Help please!

Hi

I am sorry to burst onto the forum unintroduced and ask for help but i am starting to go mad (well maybe, not but i cant think straight)

I am due for my period today. I hav felt unwell in a funny way for the past week. It feels as if i have pressure on my left where i usualy get my period pains. It sort of a hot pressure...very strange.

I did a test on Monday (2 days ago) and there was a faint blue line. It was very faint but without doubt it was there. I have been ttc for a year and have never seen even a glimmer of a line so i was delighted.

Anway yesterday i did another test thinking the line might have got bolder but its gone and today still no sign of any blue line. They were all clearblue tests which i have been told are very good?

The pressure is still there but no line. Any ideas? Do you think i could be pregnant or some other explanation. I have thought maybe i was pregnant but it didnt work out...

I would love to hear from anyone!!!

Well as you already know im going through the same thing its so wierd and mine were noname tests the ones i used the last time i got preg so i know they can be accurate.
Umm well i guess do what im doing and test once more ill be waiting for your news.

Hi there,

I would try again perhaps using a different brand. I like first response, they are quite clear and not overly pricey if you get a pack of two.
If your period has not arrived in the next few days, do another and if its still neg wait a few more days and then go see your doc.

It can take weeks for the HCG hormone to show up in your urine so you could be pregnant and maybe the first time u tested there was a higher concentration of HCG and the next time not so much so it didnt show, especially if you are really early on.

I am sending you loads of babydust, im trying to conceive myself its my 3rd month and its agony waiting for that second line!!!

Thanks ever so much. Its great to get a reply. I am 34 and approaching 35 quickly. I know itsnot old but i have been trying for a year and starting to get a little down about it. It should be a great time for me but its this waiting and the first + sign ever was so great but then it was gone!

Still no period. I will try and wait until next week and see what happens.

Hi and welcome! Do you use ovulation sticks to pinpoint your ovulation? If so try doing one of these because if you are pregnant these show positive too and sometimes before you have a positive pregnancy test. I was sure I was pregnant and in the middle of the night I decided to try an ovulation test as I had bought a whole load from ebay and there was a positive line! I went to the website (fertility naturopath) that supply the tests and they said this can happen because when you are pregnant you LH hormones rise along with your HGC. Good luck!

Its very frustrating hunny, I know exactly what its like. I know I have not been trying to conceive as long as you but its the not knowing where you are, if your preggers or not that is the annoying thing, especially as you want it so bad.

34 is definately not old, I met someone the other day who is 41 and having her first baby, it took her a year and a half to conceive.
My friend is 21 and it took her two years to conceive. My other friend only took a month (lucky cow!) It just depends on getting that sperm to the egg at that critical time!!!!!!!

Yeah, give it a week or so and if the dreaded P has not arrived test again.

Keep me informed its nice to chat to someone else who is trying.

Did youget a ++?? I had very bad pain in my pelvic area yesterday and had to take some pain killer...dont think thats too good really but this morning its not too bad.

Did another clearblue but it wa - was just 2 dotts at the top of the test. I tried one of the tests i use to detect if i am ovulating and that was a + so completely confused now. Still late.

Got a positive on the ovulation stick today but still - on pregnancy??

Don't want to build your hopes up but as I said before a positive ov test can also mean you are pregnant. Have a look at the following text from the fertility naturopath forum that I wrote to when I had a positive line on my ov test:

Your absolutley right a OPT will show up positive during pregnancy sometimes even before the HPT shows a positive. This is due to the fact that LH rises faster during early pregnancy and the hCG rises slower as it is initially releases by the corpus luteam or white body that is released with the ovum at O then once the embryo emeds in the thickened endometrium the placenta starts to grow and starts producing the hCG.

hCG usually doubles in quantity every 2 - 3 days. The pregnow pregnancy tests are sensitive to 20mIU/ml and this using shows about 10DPO but this depends on each individual pregnancy so it may be better to wait if you have the patience till the first day of your missed period when the hCG levels will be higher then if negative to retest every second day whilst the hCG level has time to rise to the specified sensitivity of the Pregnow tests.

Hi Sarah,

Not sure about the ovulation sticks as I never used them when ttc but how about taking your temps? If you do this daily you will see a rise after ovulation and will stay high if pregnant..

Re tests.. the other girls are right.. hcg levels are very erratic and some tests are not very good with lower levels.. I bought a batch from ebay [the ones they use in hospitals] and even 2 days before AF due the lines were there.... faint but visible.

I think it is very likely you are pregnant.. are you using the morning pee to test with?
Are you having any other symptoms? boobs swollen and / or sore?

I hope this is your month.. I am 37 in a few weeks and pregnant with my first .. after 3 miscarriages I was beginning to think my time was up but now here I am with a mini me in there!!

Hi

Well was in docs for the appointment at 10.50 and in hospital by 11.30. They thought it might be an eptopic pregnancy.After 9 hours of prodding, scaning, waiting etc. Came to conclusion I had a miscarrige and the pain is a syst that came about from the hormons after the pregnancy failed. So feeling quite poo....

Well trying to relax and get back to normal. I am having an on/off light period which i would prefer was normal but in the circumstances understandable. Got a scan on 15th May just to see if the cyst has gone.
