The HV told me that by the time Adam is 26 weeks, he should only be having around 600ml of milk a day.

Adam is having around 36oz a day just now with a little food and is not gaining weight like he was.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to gradually reduce his milk intake without causing too much stress for us both.

He is a big milk drinker and I can't see this being easy, especially as it's getting warmer and he won't take juice or water.

Thanks. xx

Jack was on that amount of milk per day and I never tried to cut it down but found once I started weaning at 6 months he cut it back naturally. :)

You could try offering half of the milk and then some food, and then see if he is hungry for the rest. Or give him some food before he is really hungry for a bottle. When we started weaning Charlotte at around 26 weeks, I gave her the milk first, and separety from breakfast and lunch. We have gradually changed it around and we have meals first and only offer her milk afterwards, which she may or may not take. Once he starts eating more, he should naturally take less milk as he won't be as hungry.
