My mum has just sent me this email, I am gonna have a look into it as it doesn't sound right to me, but obviously I am not qualified in anything. Can anyone else offer me their opinion?
Thanks

Whilst I remember, can you give me the forum address or another that may hold some answers to a gut feeling for a friend's grandson? He is 6 1/2 months old. Will not lay on his tummy and does not roll over yet. When they pick him up, his body arcs out, tummy forward and he throws his arms and legs out behind him (parachute jumper style). This happens EVERY time he is picked up / moved. GP refered him to a paedat the hospital (whos name is unknown by the gran so he could well be crap!!) who said there was nothing wrong with him. That may be but gran is very worried that there is something wrong - her gut feeling is very strong but she is trying to keep a lid on it for daughter in laws sake. Any suggestions ? :(

oooh hard one,
is it natural for him to arch or does it he do it in paddy, i know babies arch when they are tring to be put down cos they don't like being held.

As for the rolling etc he may just be a late developer.

But like you said Sami i am not qualified to say :?

He does it every time he is picked up. It's a tough one, coz the rolling thing could be late development, but my mum said he is showing no signs of it. I know the paed said there is nothing wrong, but they all said that about Damien, and now he has bad reflux and stops breathing :? It took him to be 999 rushed into hospital when he had turned blue for them to listen. I know that's a little more drastic than this baby's problem's but my point is paed and GP's don't always know.

my son never rolled over until he was about 2 we used to call hin the turtle because if he got on his back he could'nt move so i would'nt worry

how often is he put on the floor tho, if he hates being on his tummy then he wouldnt be showing signs of rolling over if hes not given floor time would he?

maybe he is just late

xxx

Look up hyperflexia and hyperplexia (probably both spelt wrong) - Callum had tests for these when he was under the neurologist. Can't remember what they were, but I remember them being something to do with muscles and his reflexes

Sounds like you may have hit the nail on the head Tracy, it may not be though so I'm gonna look into it and read more before I say anything.
Was Callum tested for this because he was jerky at sudden noises or being touched ?

sounds like Aimee ! she does all those things too, i didnt think anything of it

let us know if you find out anything!

Callum didn't have any symptoms - he was tested because of his ventriculomegaly along with tests for just about every brain thing possible. Don't even know why I've remembered those cos I've forgotton the names of just about everything else he was tested for  .
