Glenn has had it from about 4-5 weeks, he has had a course of antibiotics as it has been infected but it just wont clear! poor little lamb was asleep in his car seat today and he has scratched his face so much he made it bleed, i feel like crying for him it is so frustrating, he suffers worse on his face but his little body is dry and getting patches now, he sleeps with socks on his hands cos i am so scared he will rip the skin off his face while he is sleeping.
The gp has refered him to a skin specialist and i have just got an appointment but its for May! he has marked his face today and we were due to go to Mini-Rhyme Time tomorrow and now i dont want to take him cos i can feel the other mums staring at him bless him, i just wish his face would calm down so he wont scratch as much, dont get me wrong i have seen much, much worse but it is visible enough to go...oohhh that looks sore!
Has anyone elses little one got it or have they had it? if so, when did it dissapear? my gp has said it will go away and it wont scar but i am not so sure.... :(

Hi rach, how is he fed, is it breast or bottle if you dont mind me asking? Usually its caused by an allergic reaction to something - with my eldest it was cows milk so i took him to a homeopathic clinic. my third child suffers with eczema (sp) and again cows milk is one of the culprits but theres another we cant find.

he is bottle fed on Aptamil, i took him off Jarred food a couple of months ago so he has what i make him then i know whats going in it, i have stopped using a seperate clothes softener, all his clothes get extra rinses and are washed seperately, we have no pets not even a fish! so i havent a clue, i cant wait to go to the specialist so he can prescribe him some proper cream, i go through loads of oilatum and emolients its unreal.

I bet u do. Have u tried him on soya milk, thats what i had to do with the third due to the rashes.

My little one has eczema and was refered to the hospital. He had to have steriod cream and epiderm. we only give him the steriod cream, if its really bad. But we use epiderm everyday and it keeps it at bay. We also put socks on his hands to stop him scratching, gloves dont stay on 5 mins lol. Also we dress him in cotton. So under his clothes i put a baby grow, which also means he cant raise his trousers and scratch his legs

Aimee had it. It was first noticed at her 8 week check but it probably started at about 6 weeks. It was awful, her face and legs were the worst and the backs of her knees were red raw. She had all sorts of creams, oilatum, epiderm, allergenics and steroid cream just to name a few. She had to have cream in the bath and I couldn't use soap or shampoo on her so she never smelt too good. Thankfully it started clearing up when she was around 10 months and by the time she was 1 it had totally gone :D She has no scars either which I was surprised about I thought it would of scarred her face at least.

What does it look like. Rafa has had a red rough rash- tiny little spots- it could be a heat rash though. My hubby had eczema badly as a child and so we're a bit concerned.

Hi Rach,

Poor you, I remember how awful it was having a little one with eczema and not being able to do anything about it. Gia had terrible eczema from about 3 months old. She even contracted impetigo because it was so sore. Ater banging on alot of doors and seeing alot of alternative therapists we found that Gia was allergic to cows milk protein. I was still breast feeding then so I cut out all dairy products from my diet and moisturised her whole body with diprobase ointment and bathed her in diprobath and nothing else. We stopped using any scented products around her and only washed her clothes with unscented powder. Her skin improved within days.

Gia is now on Cow and Gate pepti which is a formula for cows milk protein allergy babies. Ask your dr about it.

I do hope your little ones eczema clears up real soon

Our little Livvy has had eczema since about 3 months, but its only really been just dry skin until Friday of last week when it got so bad that it all peeled off and started weeping on her clothes.

She just had a really bad patch on her shoulder and few other small patches in other spots.
We took her to GP yesterday and she gave us a steroid cream call Fucibet... and I'm not kidding, Ive never seen such a positive reaction, the weeping has stopped and the redness has disappeared.

I am so happy, her skin is beginning to look normal again after less than 24hours of treatment.

We are also waiting for some emollient stuff for her bath and skin, but they didnt have any left at chemists.

Hope your little ones problems clear up soon
xxxx

Danny had (has-if i dont watch it is appearing again) a terrible eczema. His face literally was covered in it :( The only thing what helped us was Lavera Neutral Baby skincare range. The best is facecream. It cleared it up in 3 days (but you have to put it on non-stop) This is the cream http://www.soorganic.com/product.php?pr ... 203&page=1 But you can get baby lotion, baby shampoo, baby oil bath, baby oil and nappy cream.

This is the only range I came across which doesnt smell at all (well, just a bit oily) and it has been fantastic. I am using just that now.

I am also using these washing products http://www.soorganic.com/home.php?cat=403

Hope it will get better for you and your LO soon

And dont worry that someone will stare! Lots of babies have eczema so it is pretty common, and mums are very understanding
