HI.

My daughter is 2 and a half and has been fully potty trained since before she was two. I breastfed her for 10 months and she now eats a good range of fruit, veg and brown bread etc. and drinks water, milk and pure fruit juice. Despite this she is quite constipated and it is obviously painful for her.

Anyone got any good ideas?

My sister inlaw swears by a drink of warm water and a pinch of brown sugar (small pinch!)

Her two boys have the same problem!

If she already drinks fresh juice, I would give her a weetabix for her breakfast for a couple of days , that should help some

lay her over you knee on her tummy and rub her lower back.

She already eats weetabix for breakfast. She actually holds her poo in for days until it just explodes out of her all hard and dry. We're trying bribery at the moment, but it's not really working.

Anyone tried syrup of figs in 2 year olds?

My neice has very bad constipation problems. Try prune juice and lots of oats, why not swap weatabix for oatibix for a couple of days, or oats so simple that really helps with bowel movement. Otherwise warm water is also worth a try :)
