Oooo I adore Tuscany. It really depends what you want from a holiday. I just love soaking up the villiages, the atmosphere, the food, lazy days and so on. Pisa and Florence are lovely to see of course, but I prefer the rural side of things.

Not sure about the weather that time of year. It'd be past its best, I've always gone in late spring and early summer.

Have a read of these to give you an idea.

i went last septemebr and it was still really hot, but it was a hot summer in Italy last year. Loved Sienna and San Giamagno (spelling?). but if you are flying somethng near Florence would be your best bet.

We go to Tuscany every year...my aunt has a huge farmhouse out there. The weather in October/November is usually changeable... it's the olive picking season and it can be warm but...it can be cold and it can rain. It's really difficult to predict I'm afraid.

Tuscany is absolutely stunning. It's all about culture, food and countryside. There isn't much going on and we just go and spend the holiday being totally lazy, eating good food!

I would recommend the eastside of Tuscany around the Cortona, Perugia, Arezzo area. Cortona is where the film Under The Tuscan Sun is set and was made.

You usually have to travel to places for days out so a car is a bit essential. Siena, Florence and Pisa are excellent places to visit and only a hour or twos drive. You can also go to Rome for the day but I would recommend using the train for this journey because it's a nightmare to navigate around the the drivers are totally mental!

Sorry if I've rambled on too much...it's just it's my favourite place in the whole world!!!

i'm going there in 20 days for our honeymoon can't wait, we are going to go to leaning tower of pisa and spend a couple of days in florence. we are staying in a farm house just 15 miles north of florence. it has a lovely pool and generally can't wait to relax.

we are goiing to the mugello circuit also for the weekend to watch the moto GP (motorbike racing) over there too.
