Ok so my Son is almost two. Normally pretty well behaved and happy and a good eater. The last couple of days he has been fussy with most food, his nappies have been horrendous. Pale to bright yellow, paste like consistency to sticky and foul. To add to this yesterday and just now he has had proper major meltdowns. I try to calm him and he lashes out, kicking, crying, screaming, head butting me or himself and hair pulling of I have hold of him. It's so so upsetting. I just wanted some advice and reassurance. Thinking it's either teething or start of terrible twos or combination of the two. I'm not sure whether to take him to the doctors to make sure there's nothing wrong but don't want to appear the neurotic Mum. Help please!

If it's so out of character I would take him just to rule out medical :) it's not neurotic, it's you caring.
If the doctor gives him full bill of health then at least you csn start considering other avenues! X x

Thank you so much for the reply. I have rung the automated service and between my two nearest doctors there is a seven day wait for an appointment. I'll be ringing in the morning to see if I can get a cancellation.

I'd be stressing that he's 2 and you'd like an emergency appt- doctors usually allocate emergency ones on the day- and in my experience when it's a young child they'll give you one quite easily. Just don't take no for an answer! Xx
