Hiya Miss G...that is fab news! You can make an absolute fortune on the rigs. I think they normally do 6 weeks on, then 6 weeks off.I think they have removed the restriction on how far away from the rigs you have to live so you might still be able to set up camp together in Sheffield.

skairdy - the lad i speak to says he works 2 weeks on oil rigs then has 2 weeks at home, so all in all has around 6 months OFF and gets paid 42k!!!! i told Danny although he comes home nearly every weekend i am used to him being away so for 2 weeks out of a month i can cope with ESPECIALLY as i know he isnt fighting in a war zone - its much safer!!!

i hope it isnt AF making an appearance babes but if it is, we are ALL going into the July BFP Club darlin!! so we can all be pregnant together!

I think the time spent on the rigs can vary. I went to college with a girl who's dad did 6 months on, 6 months off!! He earned a bomb though.
It's very popular around here working on the rigs.

hey hun you can be as nosey as you like!! we have talked about getting married and we were going to get married and i was going to move down to where he is based BUT then we decided we would like a baby and that getting a house close to home would be a better option so we are not getting married yet, we are wanting to buy our own house and have a baby before we get married, once we have lived together properly then we can set a date but not until then!

I see.... wow.. you are so patient! I couldn't wait to get married! Mark and I were sorta pressed for time though as a fiancee visa only lasts 6 months in the UK... so we planned our beautiful wedding in just 3 months! I'm so jealous when I hear that someone is getting married... I wish I could do it again and again and again....to the same person of course!!! I just loved my big day so much!
