Aw, it's the best thing!! I can totally feel my baby moving about!! It's been happening for a week or so now, but these last couple of days it's been pretty regular and there's absolutely no mistaking that it's the baby! I was told that as I have an anterior placenta I may not feel movement until later on but clearly this baby has its daddy's big, strong legs because I am feeling little kicks and twitches all over my lower abdomen!!! Amazing, I still can't quite believe it!!

I will be 18 weeks on Tuesday, really wasn't expecting anything until after 20 week scan!

im 16+2 and know its deffo the baby moving about now brill isnt it, last wk felt a few twinges but i wasnt sure o/h keeped saying you must know this is your 3rd i was like well ive forgotwhat it feels like lol but now ive felt more and know its bubba. annie i was about 18 wks with my first tho xxxx

Glad your feeling bubs move i have anterior and felt it around 17-18 weeks but its a forth - although it felt like waiting forever. Spend all evening proding bubs back to keep him/her awake!

Aw I can't wait! I also have an anterior placenta and must admit felt a bit gutted I wouldn't feel baby as early as I'd liked but it's reassuring to hear you guys have felt bubba at 18 weeks! Quick question, I was wondering if with an anterior placenta, you feel kicks etc in your back more? x x

I have an anterior placenta too, I haven't felt anything in my back at all, it started in my lower abdomen and has slowly got stronger and higher. I feel it on both sides too :)

Call me a bit thick, but is an anteiror placenta is that between the front of your tum and the baby or between you and the baby, with your front of tum on other side ? eg( Mum/placenta/baby/mums front tum wall) etc

hope that makes sense

JJ an anterior placenta is on the front wall so where your bump grows there is placenta first then baby. That's why normally you would feel kicks round the front of your tummy but because the placenta provides an extra layer it buffers any movement until they are strong movements. A posterior placenta is when the placenta is flush with your back, and the baby is in front. I have an anterior placenta but it isn't low so it's somewhere up the top underneath my ribs but slightly forward (hopefully cushioning them a bit ;). My kicks tend to be lower down and in the middle of my bump and started feeling movement from 15 weeks. I think it's only really a problem if it's anterior and low cause that could potentially cause problems with delivery, especially if you had to have a c-section cause that's where they would make the incision.
Hope this helps x

I've an anterior placenta too :-) I felt movement between 16-18 weeks (I swear i felt something at 16! lol!) but more recognisable by 18-20 weeks.

It's normally low down to the lower left of my bump, which became clear why at my 20 week scan as Peanut was facing the floor with his/her feet where I was getting the kicks! Upside down? Silly baby! lol!

I've felt movement level with my belly button on left and right sides too.
