Heartburn = lots of hair? *UPDATE*

Hia everyone

My heartburn started at 20 weeks exactly and is getting worse and worse with everyday that goes by! Its horrible!!!!

Everyone keeps telling me that it means my little girl will have a good head of hair on her... my question to you ladies is, if you had bad heartburn (and I mean BAD heartburn) did your baby have lots of hair or is this just another old wives tale to be taken with a pinch of salt?!

I suffered from bad heartburn and Lola had quite a bit of hair when she was born

It didn't last long before it fell out though

Lucy was born with lots of hair but I didn't suffer much with heartburn. I've had more heartburn this time round so it'll be interesting to see if this LO has much hair!

i had terrible heartburn for the last few weeks....so bad i was up for most of the night every night!!
my lo had a head of dark hair but not really thick and it fell out after 1 week or 2.

i suffered really really bad heartburn with both my girls and they were both born with loads of hair so m uch my lo is 12 weeks and i can put bobbles in lol xx

I had never had heart burn in my whole entire life until i was pregnant and i had it really bad and Ryan came out with a few hair's scattered on his head but thats it!

I never had heartburn and my LO was born with a mop of black hair and still has it 4 months later. Only its getting lighter

FWIW my mother never had heartburn either and I had a mop of jet black hair at birth also.

AFAIK its another old wives tale.

I had horrendous heartburn when pregnant. My LO was born with a full head of long hair and she has never lost any of it.

Ive been doing some research on the net and it seems like they might have 'proven' this old wives tale...

There are a few sites which refer to this particular study. From your replies it doesnt seem to be true for everyone though!

I suppose I will just have to wait and see...although I would love to know that there is a reason why I am suffering with it so badly!

I had heartburn once, and she came out with a fair bit of dark hair. It's just turned blonde.

I had terrible heartburn and my Son was born with hair but not lots of it, I think its aload of tosh just another one of them old tales but I used to love thinking that he'd come out with loads of hair, something to focus on to get you through the terrible heartburn

Jam had a full mop of drak hair when he was born and I had no heartburn durin pregnancy at all

I had horrendous heart burn throughout pregnancy and it got worse toward the end. LO was born with fair hair but not a lot

I had terrible heartburn in pregnancy and suffered so badly during my labour (DH actually had to phone my friend and get him to drop some gaviscon round cos the hosp were useless with giving me the stuff for it ) and Isaac ended up with lots of hair. I was born with lots of hair and my mum had terrible heartburn with me, she didnt have heartburn with my bro and he ended up bald! wonder if there's any truth in it!
