Have any of you lovely ladies got the application form yet?

I asked my MW for it today but she gave me a form for healthy start vouchers, for milk yokens, etc - is this the right one?

I felt embarrassed asking for it, as as soon as I asked for it thye MW & student MW burst out laughing - charming eh!

Hi Vicki,

I don't think it's the same thing.
The Health In Pregnancy grant is a form that midwife or doctor has to fill in and you need to send it to HMRC. It is for a one-payment of £190 that they will put into your bank account after April. It applies if your due date is the 6th April or after.

I'll ask for mine tomorrow as I have midwife appointment. I hope she know what I'm talking about!!!! :)

This has been in the news for a while now so maybe they laughed because they have had sooo many people asking for it???

I'm sure the MW would want you to have as much help as possible so wouldn't begrudge you the money.

See I didn't think it would be that form, but after being laughed at I didn't want to question her to be honest, hopefully it'll be a different MW next time I go and she'll give me the right bloody form!

My MW did not know either, so I called the help line' Contact the Health in Pregnancy Grant Helpline on Tel 0845 366 7885' who told me to give that number to my MW to call. Your MW/Doctor are the only ones who can request a form for you. I'm still waiting for mine, in fact I called today about it. I was told by the guy on the help line that not all areas know about it yet and he asked me what area I lived in. Hope that helps Viki.

this is really great and they dont ask u bout ur income either. Nice to get bit of money unexpectedly!

Hey hun. I asked my Middy about it at my last appointment as I was hoping she would change my EDD on them as im a day out of been able to get it. She told me that they dont come into effect till April this year so she wont have the forms till then ?!?

Ladies!!

They dont start paying out till may but atleast we will get it 1 month after ours babies are born. Also when you ring to ask for a claim for, they say they cannot send it to you, your midwife has to ring up and request it. :wall:

Hi Vicky - My MW didn't mention it herself so I asked her at my last appt on Friday and she commented on how lucky I was to be due 3 days later than the start date (especially as my date was knocked back from the 5th at my dating scan :D ) and said that she'd bring the form to my next appointment. She'd only just been told about it. They won't start paying out until April-May though, but I can live with that!

Sounds like yours had never heard of it, or maybe didn't realize that your due date makes you eligible. No need to laugh at you though!

Hello girls,

I had my midwife appointment today and I asked my midwife about the grant. She gave me the form straight away. I have to fill it in and give it to her to fill in 3-weeks time when I go back to see her. Then I need to sent it to HMRC and they will pay out from April. They don't offer it to you, you need to ask for it. My midwife had a small box full of the forms.

Our surgery has the leaflets in now, but doesn't have the forms yet. You can claim now but it won't be paid unitl April/May. The GPs and midwives at the surgery didn't know about though.

How frickin' rude :(

I'm thinking of asking the sonogropher to change the date by 1 day.......

My midwife gave me the form to fill in, and i had to tell her that i wasn't eligible, she didn't know about the due date after 6th April thing.....Got all excited for a minute, hhhaaaaaa well!

At least she is being proactive rather than some midwives sound like they being!!
