Im really pee'd off ! Maternity grant! *Updated*

I sent my forms off over 3 weeks ago for my sure start maternity grant and haven't herd a thing and i remember reading that most you you that got one herd back within about 2 weeks, so i phoned them up today and they said they have nothing on system and no trace of my form

So now i have to get another form then get my MW to sign it again which took ages last time and send it off and wait again makes me mad, as i wanted to go shopping when that came through if i was able to get it which i think i am, and finally get the bits we need for baby as it's not that far away now and we have nothing yet!

I think a lot of girls have taken them in personally to the job centre and got a reciept for it so when this type of thing happens it's treated as a priority type thing. Hopefully you'll get it all sorted ASAP, don't fret you'll be organised by the time LO arrives.

hi hun, i have also had this. in my area you cant walk into social security offices where they deal with applications anymore as they have huge seeled metal doors and you can only get in with an appointment which you get from ringing up. i sent my form off 3 weeks ago and have rang 3 times. the first 2 times they wudnt do anythin and kept sayin it can take up to 3 weeks so ring bk then. when i had waited 3 weeks i rang bk and woman told me i was not on file so probably havent received form so she wud send me another one. (this was wed) on thurs i had my original form sent bk becus i had signed it not my partner who the benefits name is in (altho i am on file as being part of the family he claims for!!!! ) so i sent it bk and hopefully woman on phone told me it will only take a week as they aint backlogged in my area.

what pees me off is that the date they received it is the 2nd of july so it took them over 2 weeks to send me a form bk and they didnt even record the fact that they had received it but sent it bk on there system so i would know. they are idiots!!

im not entitled to that. i heard from them quite quick. suppose if u entitled to it u dont hear but if u not entitled u hear lol may not be true.

Thanks Kim you never guess what came through the post this morning??!!??

A letter saying thanks for the Maternity grant you applied for on the 9th July and we are able to pay you the grant and it will be in your account on the 24th so that's one good thing i am getting it, but why did they say they have no record of it on file when it had already been processed by then They don't know where there bums are im sure.... USELESS!

But at least i don't have to fill the new form in i got now and i will have the money soon so can go shopping YAY me a happy bunny now

its typical call centre idiots, cant be arsed to do their jobs and look on file for you, i had to speak to 3 people who refused to even take my details and then eventually spoke to someone helpful but still didnt get right info.

thankgod yours is sorted tho, hopefully i should have mine by this time next week and she sed to me on the phone it should only take a week to process and money go into bank. so keeping my fingers crossed i might be able to decorate a nursery next weekend.

your just in time for the sales as well paula, in my area matalan, tesco, next and marks and spencer are all having sales and they have got some great bargains for baby clothes so prayin that money comes before sales end.
