Anyone else getting them? I'm almost 14 weeks and I feel like they're crippling me. I had them last week and I thought it was due to dehydration because of having HG but I managed a lot to drink on Saturday and still ended up with a terrible one late Saturday night, had 2 yesterday and having my second again today. I'm having to take paracetamol otherwise I feel like I can't move, it's like someone putting my head in a grip and squeezing. It's worse around my forehead and eyes! Please tell me they go soon? Along with having HG I'm really struggling with this on top. Xx

I had awful headaches for days around 13/14 weeks, paracetamol shifted them but they just came back a few hours later. My sickness was a lot worse then too, not sure if they were migraines or if the paracetamol wasn't agreeing with me but they have eased off now. Hope yours shift soon, it's one more thing you could do without!

Yes I'm suffering terribly! Head massages do help so get your OH to give you a nice long one! It's the increase in hormones which causes the headaches/migraines xx

I suffered with migraines and headaches before pregnancy but had a few of them during the second trimester (I can't remember specifically when). I found that cooling head strips, ice packs on the back of the neck and 4head menthol rub worked really well, especially when combined with paracetamol.

Although you may be drinking lots, could you be drinking too much water and therefore your body isn't retaining the electrolytes it needs? And are you eating enough? Especially with HG, you may be lacking something that might be causing the headaches? Try having a lucozade sports drink to sip during the day, it has some sugar and electrolytes and I found that always helped me with my headaches.

Definitely try some of these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Shops/Kool-Soothe-Migraine-Cooling-Strips/B000KU954M
I swear by them when I get a migraine

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time with it! :(

Oh poor you MrsS. I've also been getting headaches in the evenings recently despite drinking quite a bit of water - I'm 12 + 3 now. I think it is a hormone surge as I've also been much worse with sickness since Saturday. No advice I'm afraid, hopefully they will pass soon as your hormone levels should be starting to drop off now. Xx

I've been getting headaches too! Everything about pregnancy sucks.

Yes mine have just started and I had them in the Second Trimester last pregnancy. I also get them around TOTM so Dr said they are hormonal migraines. They were so awful last pregnancy and lasted about 5 weeks, I got so desperate that the Dr prescribed co-codomol to be taken for 3 days only and this eventually got rid of them. I really sympathise, Its so hard to function when they are that bad..I have one today and I am finding it so hard to concentrate at work! Mine are all around my temples and eyes too..Definitely sounds like a migraine..Hope they go soon for you x

Thanks for replying ladies. Had to go to bed last night, the paracetamol only helped for an hour or 2 then it came right back. As soon as I opened my eyes it was back again this morning! I'm not prone to headaches, even pmt ones, but I did have them in my last pregnancy. Not at this point though! When I get one they totally floor me, a 12.5hr shift at work will be fun.

Karleigh I'll put that to the hubby. A head massage sounds good!!

First freakout I'm definitely not drinking too much, just more than I have done in weeks with the sickness. I never managed to drink much at all yesterday and they were really bad so I'll try more today if I can. Hubbys out just now and I picking me up some lucozade- I've never liked it but I'll give it a try!

Hoping, it's miserable having these along with sickness. Just adds to how shit you feel! I was really hoping I'd be turning a corner soon not feeling more crap!

It's definitely something else I could do without joey. This pregnancy has been a barrel of laughs so far :wall2:

Thanks Clare, if they keep up I can see me having to go to the GP too. I wouldn't be able to work through these, especially because I'm on my feet all night!

Hope everyone starts to feel better soon  xxx

MrsS I think I saw my Dr 3 times over the course of 5 weeks and she finally relented and gave me something a bit stronger. I was so reluctant to take them but I was desperate and they did the trick... The migraine strips do give some relief too... Oh yes I don't blame you, I couldn't cope with being on my feet dealing with them as I don't know about you but mine I worse when I move! Hope you feel a bit better soon xx

Oh definitely so much worse when I move. I've barely got off the couch today but when I do it feels like I'm carrying a house on my head. It's horrible! I'll see how I get on at work this weekend (and check my bp) and I'll go to the GP on Monday if no better! Xx

Just a tip on the lucozade - make sure it's the flat sports drink not the fizzy caffeine one. Lucozade sport has the electrolytes and no caffeine, whereas the normal fizzy one is full of caffeine!

Hope you feel better soon x
