Head butting!

Aahh something has backfired, we're a very tactile family, and Cahal has been 'kissing' everything for ages now, but his 'kisses' ( gentle touch with the forehead) have turned into full blown head butts, he gets so excited! He's either going to a) hurt himself or b) hurt another baby soon, how do we get him to stop?! We have started making sure kisses are only given to him either on the mouth or on the cheek (we used to kiss the top of his head too, that's how this all started!) but won't stop!

Aw that is really cute, I can't wait for Oz to understand kisseys, he gets loads. We're really tactile too.

No advice other than to just keep telling him in the hope that he will understand.

Oscar keeps biting my nippes when he's feeding and it makes me shout in pain sometimes but he doesn't understand the concept of pain yet so I just keep telling him no and taking him off in the hope he will gradually connect that biting down results in a negative reaction!

He's just sat on my lap and head butted mr really hard 4 times in the chest...ouch! He thinks it's funny!

Oscar will stop biting in time, we've been there too lol!

Awww hun bless him! Not sure what to suggest really other than be consistent with telling him to be gentle and showing him how to really kiss, he'll get it eventually! X

How cute with the kisses but hopefully the head banging will stop if you keep saying no?
Owen is really boisterous too and like a bull in a china shop! full on with everything! Little boys

if he carries on headbutting after u said no the first time and you've tried to distract hm i would put him down so he realises he doesnt get cuddles when he does it not sure if he is to young for this approach? x

I think he's too young for that, he doesn't know he is doing wrong and I don't want to scold him for doing something he sees as nice. We're making a big deal of kissing him on the face now, we've come to realise that we were/are a big part of the problem because we will often kiss him on the forehead. Rather than kissing us, I think he is asking us to kiss his head, but gets s excited it turns into a full blown head butt lol. Hopefully we'll have it sorted in a few days . Lots of cheek and mouth kisses in the meantime!
