I really liked Kate/Katherine but I'm kinda going off it...

I'm not totally sure why exactly

I've come back to Jennifer/jenny again for some reason

I think maybe cos I feel like Katherine is old sounding but I don't like shortened versions as names officially

I know what you mean. I think 9 months is waaaaay to long to consider names. I've found myself totally overthinking them. We first of all picked Joseph which we both loved but then I went off it thinking it sounded too harsh. Then I fell in love with Leo, had to totally convince hubby about it, he loves it too now. But I'm even starting to wobble about that.

I think both of your name choices are lovely. Katherine doesn't sound too old at all. Anyway the more traditional english names are coming back into fashion x

Aw I love Jennifer, it's my sister's middle name! Maybe baby will suit one more than the other. I'm hoping when our baby arrives, I can just look at him and say "yeah he's def an Oliver" or whatever.

They are both lovely names, although I'm leaning toward Jennifer/Jenny sounding more 'old' that Katherine/Kate...I don't know why!

Did you not fancy Lydia? Think it's such a beautiful name...I know baby Lydia's, a thirty year old and a 50 +, and it's so classic yet refreshing at all ages x

hubby said it sounds like an old librarian, and there was a nasty girl in his school called lydia.

ofc it could be a boy yet

i still think cecelia is lovely but hubby will NOT budge on it

I also think Jennifer sounds older than Katherine! What about names you can't shorten at all?

Laura, Emma, Lauren, Claire, Sarah (although that's my name and the reason my Mum picked it was because you couldn't shorten it, then my Dad nicknamed me S and it stuck lol) x

id consider them but i havent found any more we like (we also have luke, lucy and alexander on the list)

i dont like doing it the other way though, for example id never call a baby girl kate, always Katherine and shorten it.

i dont think jennifer is an old name at all. i dont know one older jennifer but i know about 10 older katherines

My Mother/Monster in Law is called Jennifer.........maybe that's why for me! lol x

I like both :)

Do you have boys names sorted? Xxx

luke or alexander are the choices.

i think girls choices are Lucy (fave), katherine or jennifer

Aw love the boy choices. Lucy is lovely too- it's my friends daughters name so we couldn't have it! Xxx

im quitre a traditionalist

i REALLY wanted joshua for a boy but hubby doesnt like it and really wanted cecelia for a girl but he wont... mainly cos of this...

lol

My vote is Lucy :) I'd have it if my hubby liked it! :) x

Lucy is still my favourite for a girl

Im a Jennifer but as i got to 11 I was known as a Jenny by my family. I decided then at 11 that shortening to spelling of Jenni was more unique and made more sense as theres no y in Jennifer!

Im still Jenni or Jen by my mates or my hubby , now im older i like Jennifer,( i dont use it other than paperwork as my birth name, but its nice to have the option of all three tbh
You really dont get too many of my name, but think Kate etc will be popular due to the the royal family at mo

Cecilia is nice, why don't you keep it on the list then when baby is born (if she's a girl) your OH might have a change of heart.

I like Kate too, we would have had that if it wasn't my sisters name. We don't get on and I'm sure she would think we named baby after her!

Think we are down to Lucie, Emily or Lyla now.

or toria theyre lovely names!

I'm so in love with the name cecelia
, although ny grandma keeps sayig "CELIA" which it is not. it can also be shortened to cici or cicily... so much scope,.i think its classic and individual at tghe same time

unfortunately, hubby is just not budging.he hates it so much and told me to quit trying, he'ss allow cecelia if we can call a boy "anakin" from starwars which aint bloody happening!

realistically were looking at Lucy Alexandra for a girl as top choice or Luke Steven for a boy (even though i do feel like when my mum talks to my dad who is called stephen that she'll say "look, stephen" and the poor kid would think what have i done?! lol)
