They rang me yesterday, got an appointment for saturday.

Went for pre op blood tests today and pick up my super strength laxatives  Booked Friday off work, and ruby in nursery and they have said I will have to stay close to loo :(

I am going in at 7.30am sat, and should be out 1.30pmish.

The nurse said I will be having a genral anaesthetic (sp?) so I will be asleep-I am soooo scared incase I dont wake up  I thought I would just be sedated, but I will be under

Very BIG hugs for Saturday
I'm sure everything will go just fine and you'll be home to Ruby with a BIG smile waiting for you before you know it :)
very best wishes

PLEASE don't worry Zoe. It will be a breeze. General anaesthetic will be lovely - just like having a good sleep!
I'll be thinking of you and hoping it all goes ok.
Let me know how you get on.
Lucyxxx

You'll be pleased to be out, I had one without sedation or anaesthetic about 4-5 years ago and it was really quite painful, the reason for this was I'd gone to a general appointment and the consultant said they had somebody in who could do the colonoscopy there and then to rule out bowel desease, because it was done so soon there was no time for sedation, I just had a nurses hand to squeeze hard

I have these done every 2 years and have to get it done under general because the sedation doesn't really do much to me. It will be much better under general, hope it goes ok for you. I hate the picolax stuff you need to take before though :puke:

I know it's easy for me to say but try not to worry hun! Will be thinking of you Saturday!

Have you asked why you're having a general? I was just sedated for mine.

Thanks ladies for you kind wishes

I think the reason for the general is they are also going to repair a tear in my back passage at the same time, it tore during pregnancy and is still painful now, so they will inject botox intot the muscles around it to freeze them and give it chance to heal...

Spent today sitting on the bed reading and snozing, cant stray too far from the loo as the laxaties they gave me are working a treat

good luck zoe thinking of you tomorrow xx

Yes Zoe, how are you????? Are you OK? Hope you are feeling better.
L xx
