We've been searching for a boys name since week 20 when we found out our flavour. We already had a girls name picked, but we just cannot decide/agree on a boys name. Names that I like OH can't stand and vice versa!

Yesterday at work the girls in the office all started trying to come up with names... lots of silly or outlandish names came up, but one of them I actually think I like - Hector. I mentioned it to OH last night and he said he likes it too.

What do you all think? Have I just heard too many names now that I'm not thinking straight? Opinions would be gratefully received.

He would be Hector Maguire.

Failing that we also quite like: Oscar, Rory, Noah. But non of them are really standing out. :wall2:

I really like it, sounds great with your surname x

Will he have a middle name? Hector Noah is really nice :D x

Yes, I definitely want him to have a middle name. OH also likes Jude?

Hector Jude? That sounds a little like the Beatles song "Hey Jude". It's nice :)

I like Hector actually but my guilty pleasure name for a little boy is Herbie...

xxxxxxx

i LOVE how it can't really be shortened! It's not a name I would choose but I do like it!

xxx

Its quite cute actually and goes really well with your surname.

oooh that sounds nice... i had a thing and called bump gilbert until i found out it was a girl xxx

I love the name Hector it really goes well with your surname. I also like Noah, but if you shorten the two together he'll be 'Heck No' which is kind of funny but kids can be mean.

How about Hector Rory? Or a single syllable middle name like James not suggesting James, but something short so the name flows well
Xx

hector is a lovely name, its strong so i say go for it x

Yes I agree it's lovely, We had Rory as our last ,sons middle name as OH didn't like it for a first name

Ha! Heck no is funny. Actually still keep changing our minds. I think we're now leaning towards Joseph. With Hector as maybe middle name? OH doesn't really get middle names (as he doesn't have one) and thinks you should only have one if it's to honour a family member. I don't agree.

Love the name Joseph too with Hector as a middle name would be really cool and not common either xx
