..... started packing a labour bag yet?

i just had the urge to start sorting one out, then thought it was way to early to do so.

anyone?

No honey - is way too early for me and I would not want to tempt fate. I found a list of what they recommend you take to hospital with you - going to need a suitcase, not a bag! OMG!! (front of mams and paps catalogue I think this particular list was)

My brother is getting married in Brighton ( 4 hour drive from where we live) 2 weeks before I am due, so will take my hospital bag to the wedding with me just in case. Hope not to have to think about it too much before then.

I've not done on yet either (too early!) but I have to first buy a bag!!! LOL Anyway I seriously want a homebirth so it's not really too much of an issue (and the lists of what to take.....OMG can't I just move the nursery to the hospital for the day!) I will get a bag and pack it though....you never know and DH wouldn't have a clue where to find my nightwear or baby's nappies!! Told him he's getting a tour of Pudding's nursery when I've finsihed organising things in there!!

I started to collect things for my bag - mainly nightdresses as I don't own one (other than the negligee type - entirely unsuitable   ) and it did take a while to track down breastfeeding nighties which didn't cost a fortune and look like something your gran would wear - found one at the weekend in Primark for £4 and one off ebay about the same. The rest of the stuff seems straightforward, so I will probably leave it now for a while.

i havnt but my nan got me together a bag with things ill need like towels, st's, wash bag. she used to work in a maternity ward and said some people were admitted weeks before they were due so she said it pays to be prepared

Hi

Nope i havent yet it think its too early still. and i dont have anything for the baby to pack yet :)
With Kiara though i think i packed it at 32 weeks just in case i didnt have time or forgot and i had nothing better to do

I didn't think about this until the weekend when I had the bleed. It was a bit of a nightmare then trying to run around thinking what to put in a bag "just in case" I had to stay at the hospital. :(

When we got home I didn't bother unpacking the bag. It's sitting in the bedroom again "just in case". I don't think it's tempting fate - just being prepared. :?

had not thought of it that way round.

I suppose I am kind of collecting it together as I am gradually buying stuff for the baby I am putting it together in a drawer in the nursery, so it is all together if I need to pack in a hurry.

I always have my toiletries bag ready as I travelled a lot for work before I was pregnant and didn't think it worth unpacking in between trips. :)

But clothes are a bit different. OH said to me on Sunday that he'd come back and get everything for me. But... I know there was one nightie I wanted to take and what knickers were "decent" for hospital etc. I thought last thing I need is him bringing in a baby doll nightie and a thong! :rotfl:

I'm going to check out that list on Mamas and Papas. Might update the contents of my bag in a few weeks.

Excellent point I should get some hospital suitable nightdresses/knickers I think. Mind you I want a homebirth but still better to be safe than sorry can you imagine being in active labour and whisked off to hospital wearing something skimpy, the ambulance men would have a fit!! :rotfl:

Bridget Jones knickers here we all come :rotfl: :rotfl:

nope i haven't it is too early... it just be setting they collecting dust

i'm thinking of doing that... like..... 30 something weeks

I keep on seeing disposable maternity pants and pads the size of a small country when I go to Monthercare etc... am just trying to ignore them at the moment.

i packed my bag at 36 weeks last time which was plenty of time ( mark came at 39 wks) defo make sure you have comfy clothes for hospital. i took maternity joggin pants and t-shirts as i dont think i woud have been comfy in jeans. DH loved the big pants, he reminds me all he time that when im finished with them the kids will be able to use them to play in :rotfl:
