I'm 6+4 today and for the last few days the idea of drinking tea makes me feel sick. I tried it and it just tasted different! It's driving me mad! Not sure I will be able to drink coffee either but really missing hot drinks.

So at the moment I am basically drinking water and the occasional lemonade!

Also not sure if I want to eat chocolate anymore which is not like me at all - I usually eat it everyday! I did however enjoy a Magnum last night! :)

I hope this passes by the first trimester!

Hi Kathryn,

Oh yes this happened to me very quickly into pregnancy. I couldn't stomach coffee, tea, or even herbal tea (all of which I enjoyed before). I have basically been on water for months. I would recommend fresh ginger tea however. I've recently discovered cut up fresh ginger and hot water, definitely not the teabag ginger tea. This is the only thing I have been able to stomach!

As for sweet desserts and cake and things it depends on the day but some days the smell has been far too much.

Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy :)

Thanks annica - good to know I'm not the only one off tea!

My OH suggested green tea and that seems to be ok so I am going to get some decaf green tea. Funny really as I never used to like it.

Funny what pregnancy does to us isn't it!

I've gone off all hot drinks and food. It was ok when the weather was nice but I'd love to be able to warm up with a cuppa just now! I've also gone off bars of chocolate, still enjoy a chocolate biscuit but I've had bars in my cupboard for weeks now which was unheard of before!

Joey I'm the same as you, gone off hot drinks completely and haven't managed a proper meal, can't bare the thought of eating meat, I've just been grazing and funnily enough I just want to eat, chips (probably because they're just bland) , pasta, and chocolate chip muffins , (don't usually have a sweet tooth) and drinking Ribena!! :) very funny what pregnancy does , I'm 8 weeks and nausea has suddenly peaked :/ xx

If food is delivered to me ready cooked, i can eat it no problem. If i have to prep anything, i go off it. Mainly having aversions to Meat (steak, whole chicken breast, anything like that), especially prepping raw meat. Im the same as you, the thought of foods just turns me off them.
Cravings ive been having is Garlic mayo with herbs in and nutella/ bueno chocolate.

Not actually been sick, but just off a lot of the stuff id enjoy. Eating a mixture of chips and beans, or chips and peas, with breaded meat like chicken or fish fingers (Terrible). It's not the best i admit, but hopefully be back eating healthy again after 12 weeks! x

I've been living off ribena too Sugar! Water just doesn't taste right and I'm getting pretty dehydrated. Once I start eating I'm usually fine but can't prepare anything and it's very rare for me to actually want anything. I used to think about food all day so this is really not like me!

Same, I am a huge fan of cooking, i think about what ill eat for lunch and dinner all day! lol. All the food i love, i don't want and all the food i never eat, i want.. So strange!

It's really interesting how your tastebuds change! I've got some fudge in the cupboard which I normally love but at the moment the idea of it just makes me feel a bit queasy!

I also normally LOVE nutella but I haven't wanted any for a couple of weeks now, so been sticking to jam on my toast!

We've not told anyone yet so trying to avoid the family as they will think it's strange I'm not drinking tea! Got an early scan on Tuesday so hoping to tell them then!

Im avoiding my friends and family too, because I usually meet them in social situations, and no one will believe me if im not drinking alchohol. Not sure what that suggests lol x

Thankfully I have not gone off of anything as of yet, and fingers crossed I don't as I LOVE my food and I absolutely adore cooking and trying new recipes. My portions seem to be fluctuating quite a lot, though. Some days I can finish my dinner and other days when I prepare the same size portion I cannot finish it.

I haven't had any strong cravings as of yet. When I first found out I was pg I was on a bit of a pizza binge from Papa John's but that's since gone away. Last night I was craving Heinz Lentil Soup with a cheese sandwich, so my lovely OH went out at 12:15am and didn't get back until 1am to go and get me a few cans of Lentil Soup. Bless him, he had to be up at 5am for work!! He's lovely.

Really hoping I don't get any food aversions as I haven't as of yet, but we shall see! Xx

Carly - I also enjoy a drink, we were out for dinner the other night but fortunately I was driving so had an excuse! Glad I've fallen pregnant at this time of year as well as my family and I are big football fans and normally drink before and after the game so they would be suspicious!!

Mariexo - that's lovely of your OH. Last week I said I wanted some ice cream. Can't work out if it was a craving or I just fancied something sweet but my OH went out and came back with Magnums!

Mmmm! That's lovely of him! I saw the new Magnums advert on the TV the other night and they looked delicious. I did fancy some choco ice-cream yesterday, not going to lie!! Xx

Yes!! Tea! I used to drink around 5-8 cups a day, especially in work, but now I can't look at it!

It's annoying isn't it Wednesday! Because you want to want it but you just don't!!

I've had HG and gone off everything. Very rarely I'll take a feeling for something but when I do I jump on it. I love tea and haven't had a cup for 6 weeks it makes me gag so much, same as any green teas etc. I'm the biggest cake/pudding fan and I haven't had either for 6 weeks either! When I do manage to eat it's very very plain things. I absolutely love my grub so this is torture! Xx

Same! now football season is over im avoiding the pub! haha My OH is a huge Leicester City fan, he has a season ticket but i normally meet them after ha. Good to hibernate and it not look suspicious! by the time BBQ season is in full swing ill hopefully be able to tell people we're expecting rather than lie to everyone.. Badly

I know, my sister found some alcohol free beers in the fridge last weekend and I know she will be suspecting something but just not saying!! I bet when we tell them, she will say she had a feeling I was! :) haha. We're trying to hold off for as long as possible as quite anxious about some people's reactions. . It's rubbish being pregnant through summer when it's BBQ season! :( but at least we will be huge in winter , which is better than summer! :)

I was away with some friends (3 hour bus trip each way, meal out, concert and overnight stay) and just told them all I was hungover which they all seemed to believe! Great excuse for looking rough, feeling sick, not eating much or drinking alcohol! Might not work if you are regularly out but is good for a one off and my friends would never fall for me saying I'm on antibiotics!
