if so how are you feeling whats your symptoms? and what medication you on?

I had anaemia quite badly during my twin pregnancy. I was tired, pale, shivery and had heart palpitations. Try taking some iron tabs, some dont get on with them and there is a supplement you can have in orange juice in that case. Cut down on tea, it hinders absorbtion of iron. Curly kale (like cabbage) is really good for iron, have it with your sunday roast x

I have anemia hunny, im feeling better now im on the tablets but at first i was pale and had no energy, i just wanted to fall asleep all the time! I cant remeber what my tablets are called but the doctor has got me taking 3 a day and im also still taking pregnacare x x

I was anemic after my MMC so I had blood transfusions to sort me out before my D&C
Afterwards I took iron, but then was pregnant again and got soo bunged up at the other end I stopped taking it. I had to do it via my diet instead, which took forever but I did get it up just enougth by the time my crossmatching bloods were done the week before my section, I lost over a litre in the op ,so good job too to be honest!

I found that shreadies did a great job as they are fortified with iron, and always take your iron tablet with a drink of orange juice (fresh) as vit C helps the absorbption of iron. Red meat is the best as it's Heme Iron and more easily and better absorbed. Non Heme Iron is from the greens and veg , but less well absorbed apparently!! I was never a big meat lover , but did like pork, beaf and lamb casseroles !!

Good luck

thanx everyone im just curious how long it takes for the tablets to actually have an effect ive only been on them 4 days at the moment but i still feel so light headed and dizzy :(

I got a second lot of 100 and it was only then that they started working but everyone is different hunny, keep taking them and they will work :hugs: x x

The midwife said to me it can take 6 weeks for the iron tablets to take effect x
