Still cant believe that harry is here n so perfect.
As most of you know i went into b induced becoz of the GD on tues morn. We made our way there for 8am that morn and i admit i was so very excted and nervous that i didnt know what to think or feel. We went in pretty much straight away and the midwife was fab and said i will pop u on the monitor and do your checks and if alls ok will pop the pessary in, fab i thought as it was only 8.15!!
Well on went the monitor and baby hyes heartbeat was fab lots of moving around and my checks were fine, but she said that the monitor was showing up sum contractions prob braxtons she said and felt my tummy wen one was happening and said can you feel that i said not really no pain just tummy goes a bit tight. She laughed and said wel lets check your cervix n get the pessary in this was now 9am. Well neither she nor me n hubby were expecting her to say wow your 3cm dilated and heads so low down i can feel your babys head and cud easily break your waters for you!!
I hadnt felt a thing lol, but had been a bit uncomfy all monday but just didnt take much notice of it and had been losing my plug i guess over weekend and mon but just thought it was extra discharge.
So no pessary for me just straight up to the antenatal ward for monitoring in the hooe id labour naturally. Well all day on the ward and a few checks later i had the tightings but no pain at all. They said labour ward was busy so may have to just get an early night in and b taken up in morn for waters to be broken and get started then. Hubby was allowed to stay so got sum tea, i had a nice shower and got in pjs for bed feeling very relaxed when all of a sudden there was room and we cud go up to labour now!!
I was very shocked as it was about 7.30 and i was ready for bed now lol. So off we went and the midiwfe jo was an angel got me on monitorand said i defo showing sum signs of contractions(stil no pain)and that she wud break my waters. Waters broken and drip up at about 7.30 and then she was poping in and out and things started to get going about 11pm so i had 2 paracetemol and just tried to get on with it as it wasnt too bad n i didnt think id prob got much further along that quick. At about 2am i was in pain alot so i said i wud try gas and air and she checked me and said i was 6cm now and that she thought it wudnt b much longer she wud take her break and b back ready for the action. Well i tried the gas and air and yuck hated it, 5mins past and it was so intense and i wanted to push so hubby called her back in off her break and said i wanted sum diamophine and she checked me as i said i want to push, n said whoa no pain relief for you i was 10cm and his head was right there!
So i had gone from 6-10cm in mins and then the pushing had to b done ouch!! It did happen fast tho and harry was born(and no big head all normal sized)at 2.59 6lb10oz and goregous. One little tear with a few stiches and that was it all done!! So 4hrs total labour from 11-3 and no pain relief the mws were like wow u made it look so easy!! It wasnt tho. I wud have had the drugs just ran out of time lol.
He is so worth it tho hes gorgeous and breast feeding fine so far but so tiring as up all night, but hey ho i knew that! Managed to get 4hrs sleep last night so that was good so glad to get out n get home tho as no sleep at all in hospital so busy and noisy in there.
If you have managed to read all that hope i have managed to calm sum peoples fears about induction/labour it really wasnt anywhere near as bad as i had imagined in my head.
