Well I went for for my long walk and god knows how I managed the last little bit! I really thought I was gunna collapse!

Having some more painful braxton hicks now but that don't mean he'll come any time soon. I will probably end up being induced!

As I type this I am bouncing on my gym ball and getting desperate now. Just want a more deffinate sign!

Bring on the pain and loss of dignity!

Spoke to my midwife today and she has agreed to do another sweep on weds and then discuss booking me in for induction on the following tues!

I'm really down right now because I really want to go into labor by myself and I have tried everything to get it started but he just won't budge!

Anyone tried the castor oil cos I am really tempted now to give it a go even though it's supposed to be yuk!

Oh dear! Poor you! I think natural mamma tried the castor oil but had no luck. It did start the contractions but they stopped after a while.

I'm having a sweep tomorrow - can you tell me what actually happens as I'm new to all this and just want to be prepared. Is it worth trying at this stage (40+3) or should I wait a bit longer?

Well it's not nice and I found it very uncomfortable but my midwife is fab and talked me through exactly what she was doing and said she would stop if it got too uncomfortable.

Basically using 2 fingers she seperates the membranes from the cervix. When she started she could only get one finger into my cervix. By the time she finished she could fit 2 in amd said I was 2-3cm dialated

She said if was going to work then it would within 48 hrs. Well I am way past that now and so I will have to go through it again and pray it works next time.

As for the timing I guess if your body is not ready to go into labor then no amount of proding will start it but I aint giving up that easily!
