and was very lucky indeed with the doctor! She didn't rush us and gave me a tummy examination, told us what to do if I do start bleeding or if the pain doesn't go away with paracetamol or if I get faint or dizzy.

She doesn't think that the baby is ectopic (yet, don't know if it can go from not being ectopic? Will do some research), and I'm definitely definitely pregnant! Woke up at 5am this morning terrified that she was going to say that I wasn't!!

I had a scan booked through my gynae for a 3-month check-up for next week to see if the cyst had started to re-grow and the doc said that I should call the clinic and tell them that I'm pregnant and could the scan be changed from an exploratory scan to a early ante-natal scan. I called them and the secretary is going to let me know what the consultant says.

So, today I've gone from not feeling pregnant at all, to being told that I definitely am pregnant and the baby isn't ectopic, to being scared about what could go wrong to being excited about it again!

She also told me that even if they do do a scan next week, they might not find a hearbeat as it can sometimes take until week 7 for it to be heard. But as long as they can see that the baby is there and not ectopic I will be a lot happier!!

How is everyone else today?

Woohoo great news! Re ectopic, if they think it isn't now then it can't become ectopic - you can't know where it will implant till it does, so if they're saying it hasn't implanted in your tube, then it must presumably have implanted in the right place (pretty sure it has implanted by 5 weeks) and it's there to stay now honey so don't worry!

Yay! That's great news hun, I bet you're so relieved. It's good they're keeping a close eye on you :D

It'll be great if they make the scan an early ante-natal one ~ sneak a peak!!

I'm ok apart from being exhausted and feeling sick all the time ~ bought self some new travel bands this morning, which have helped. I'm taking that as a good sign tho!

all sounds very good! great to get the ante natal scan as well as it will put your mind at rest.
i'm fine today except for feeling exhasuted and having very sore boobys!
off to the docs in a minute though...........

Hi everyone!

I'm going with the 'so far so good' attitude today! Have just read a little about ectopic pregnancy and know the signs now to keep an eye out for (severe lower abdominal pain and pain in the tip of my shoulder).

I think if the consultant says that they won't change it to a early ante natal scan then we'll probably get a private one.

I also found out that the midwife service doesn't start until week 10 or 11. Does that seem a little late?

Hannah, sorry to hear you're feeling sick! Fingers crossed the bands work. Have heard that ginger is pretty good for it as well?

Trio - good luck at the doctors!

The 10/11 week thing is not unusual hon - I didn't have my booking in appt (1st time I saw mw) till 11+3. If you have any concerns in the interim talk to your GP x

Good luck with the scan! EPs can be worrying (they thoguth I had an EP a few years back) but good news is your doc doesnt think so and your scan will prove that - puting your mind 100% at ease :)

Im waiting on my early scan - I just wanna make sure there is actually a baby there as today I dont feel pregnant at all.

Was bad though, bought another test - even though Ive done 3 over the weekend - just to prove to myself that it still said pregnant hahaha.

I was contemplating buying another test this morning... but then thought about DH's reaction when/if I told him the result was still positive! Even the doctor yesterday looked at me a bit funny when I told her I had done 4 tests!

Hahaha!! I've got a clearblue digital in my bathroom cabinet and am sorely tempted to take another test even though I know i'm pregnant already! I'm thinking of leaving it until i'm about 8 wks (if we make it that far this time) just to double check. At the mo i'm counting down to 6 wks cos that's when it all started happening last time.

I'm sorry to hear you've had problems in the past, Hannah. Will keep everything crossed for you. Have you got a scan date yet?

x
