Just want to have a moan about my rubbish night last night!!

I crawled into bed at about 10ish....feeling exhauseted and was woken up at 1:36am with really bad tummy pains. In my half asleep state I just turned over and hoped that would be the end of it.....OH NO!!!

8 minutes later it happens again!! I think..oh well maybe I've just got tummy ache but nope!! I get the same pain every 8 - 10 minutes for the next two hours!

I was just on the verge of calling the hospital 24 hour emergency line for advice when after spending an hour and a half wondering around the house they finally ease off and the pain stops. I was left with just tightening in my tummy then but no pain.

I went back to bed eventually and managed to get a bit more sleep, albeit a light one, and it's not happened again since I woke up this morning. Baby has been really active today so I'm not overly worried but is there any explaination as to why I should be getting pain this early???

Sorry for the moan ladies.... I think I'm just tired from lack of sleep last night

So sorry to hear about the restless night you had
I've had similar rhythmic cramps quite a few times during pregnancy but have put mine down to needing to go but being constipated. Hopefully it's something similar to this that you've experienced but can't do any harm giving the midwife a ring to reassure yourself.

Take care and hope you get a better sleep tonight

Aww you must be exhausted

Not sure why you would be getting contraction like pains this early - it could be slightly painful BHs. Last Friday I woke up the day after doing some baby shopping with a friend and I think I must have overdone things. I had a painful tummy that was coming in waves every ten minutes or so and was starting to get a bit worried that it was early labour. I decided to see if I could nap for most of the day as I'd read somewhere that you can tell it is labour if you are unable to sleep through it. I slept on and off and as it stopped the nest day I put it down to severe indigestion/heartburn and overdoing things the day before.

In fact I have felt a few tummy pains today and wonder if it was because I went swimming yesterday and therefore overdid things a bit. Might have to slow things down, especially with the weather being as draining as it is at the moment.

Glad you feel better today though and don't worry about moaning, it's what we are here for

Ooh I got quite a few severe pains from 27-29wks, I thought they were very similar to contractions I had with DS but they never transpried into anything more and put them down to very painful BH.

Do you have an excersise/birthing ball, I got one of these as a last resourt after days of no sleep and it really really helps to sit on one of these!

I still get the pains but on fridays usually so Im thinking I might have a friday baby!!

Maybe you've been overdoing things a bit or it could be BH? Although BH aren't supposed to be painful, I find mine are on the odd occasion and my M/W said its probably because I have such a small build that sometimes they are more intense. Don't know what build you are but hope that helps a little.
Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight
