before i found out i was pregnant i had started to learn to drive then wen i found out i gave up to save money but i have been looking into starting again, but i really cant afford it as i need insurance etc for the car to do my theory take the lessons then do my test prob more than once lol
well i told my family for my bday id like money to put towards a car hoping to do lessons over the summer so my sis can have B for me, well today my nan and grandad knowing this game me £3000 aswell as my sis and two cousins (we wont get nutting out of will for it)
but the only thing is i got to wait till im 21. so i could basically use the money to do my lessons and get a car etc (they have been moaning at me for months about not re-starting my lessons) but i cant touch it till im 21, i just feel so down as this summer would be great to do it etc but it feels like im never gonna be able to
i am probably sounding so selfish sorry if i am

they prob want you to use it towards moving out or something Sarah, the thing is even if you learn to drive and get a small battered run around fully comp insurance will cost you a grand if not more so unless you are desparate to drive might be best to wait  or take your lessons and test when you can afford to blag it with your folks to go on their insurance and then buy yourself a car when you get the money :D

wot would happen is id buy the car but my dad would be the main person on the insurance so it is cheaper lol.
they sed they want me to use it for a car etc but i have to wait two yrs lol

Would u not take out a small loan to fund lessons and buy a car?

I took out a loan from my bank 5.000 to pay for lessons and a car. im still paying it back and cant drive yet. I paid 700 for an intensive course but my driving instructor was really bad. After the 700 dried up I had to pay 20 quid for an hour lesson when I could. I shopped around and have now found a guy that charges 10 for 2 hours and he wants to put me in for my test. Maybe shop around and see the best for you. You dont have to do lessons every day, maybe once a week so u dont lose ur skills. Then build it up when you have the money.

it would still be expensive to add you to the insurance and then when you want your own insurance some companies wont accept that as proof of your no claims discount so may still be pricey! Have you spoke to your grandparents about it?

yeah there adament wen i was on dads insurance last time it wasnt to bad £160 i had to pay so hopefully fingers crossed

Sarah I would pay for the odd lesson now when you can, worry about insurance when you've passed.
