Grrr, getting fed up with DH

My OH sounds like bunnykins' haha! I've been quite lucky with him really, he's been really helpful! We've (he's) just put together LO's swing and playmat, so he's got the rest of the afternoon off to watch football and have a beer! xx

My fiance is exactly the same, I have completed the nursery all by myself even putting a new carpet in ( it was dark blue walls and carpet before its now got pale green walls, winnie the pooh motifs and border and pictures, cream carpet and pale pink curtains and light) I even had to dismantle and remove the cabin bed that was in there and build all her cot and furniture myself because he is too lazy to be bothered to help. I have had to do it now as due to my back problem I dont know how long I am going to be mobile for and the consultant is talking about admitting me to hospital if it gets much worse.

His motto is if you can do without it being done then he doesnt see why he should bother. I have half a laminate floor in the kitchen, the other half is the chipboard that covers the concrete!!! It has taken 3 yrs to get half the kitchen done!

Sometimes I want to give him a damn good kick up the arse but cant reach- I complain to his dad instead and he does it for me. He has asked me to marry him and we are getting married next year but I still dont have an engagement ring as he doesnt see it necessary and would rather buy crap on ebay!

I know your OH should be doing it, but could you not pay for someone to come & fit the rest of the laminate for you? Dont even consult him on it, just go for it, even do it on the sly & say a friend done a favour.

:)

Glad my hubbies not the only one. I did build the cot myself on Saturday morning in the end and I actually really enjoyed doing it (I wont admit that to DH though). He just came home from playing football and said 'you've done a good job babe'!! I also went and bought some wood glue and fixed Lennons drawers and the ones in the nursery too :) I can't complain too much this weekend though as DH did actually fix the toilet seat (its been wobbly for AGES and we couldn't work out how to tighten it - the plumber fitted it originally), put up the baby's blind, put up a sign on the baby's door, rearranged the nursery furniture till we found a better fit (the room is tiny), took a load of stuff up to the attic (twice as I forgot some stuff the first time), sorted out the recycling (I'd bought some new plastic storage boxes to sort everything as we had just been chucking it all in one cardboard box) and was all prepared to start putting up all our picturers (we've been in the house for about 10 months but not put up any pictures yet) but we decided that we need specialist wall hangings as we thermal boarded throughout and I don't think normal picture hooks will hold. Then while I finished cleaning, he went out and bought us both some lunch and made it and a cup of tea for when I'd finished. So....all in all, he was pretty productive this weekend.

Thats funny coz my OH has been a bit more constructive this w/end too! Wonder if they've been having a sneaky look on here! :)

He took loads of stuff out the house that was needing binned & moved some furniture about in our bedroom - to make space for the crib. He's also bought plaster & other stuff to plaster the bathroom walls. I was quite constructive too, got loads of bags off to the charity shop & got rid of all my old videos that I know i'll never use again.

:)

DH wont let me dump our videos - he's such a bloody hoarder. It drives me mad!! We've got about two boxes of videos in the attic that he wont let me get rid of. Along with a Nintendo Game Cube, a PS1 and a PS2 plus games. He thinks it will be funny for Lennon to play on them when he's older

Thats not nearly as embarrasing as my OH taking out my old sega mega drive & plugging it in. To be fair my wee 1 has played it more than she's played her wii. looooool - embarrasing if anyone comes in right enough.

:)

Gotta love the old school games!!! My mums still got our nintendo console with the huge cartridges!!
