Where is the best place to buy these? I've been looking around and they are quite expensive! (Isn't everything for baby?! Lol)
Also, how many do u reckon I'll need?

While I'm asking silly questions, how often will I have to change the crib/cot bedding? As often as I change my own?

Sorry if this is a daft thread lol x

Bedding, I don't know, so I'll look out for replies, but they do gro bags in Matalan which aren't too expensive, that's where we got ours x

I got my ds's grobags from tk maxx paid about £25 for 2!I only had 2 sonic I needed to change in the night I had a spare!

I got my ds's cot bedding from dunelm mill I got the works bumper, cot tidy, nappy stacker, 2 flat sheets, duvet cover and pillowcase for about £50. My mum bought our other bedding for us which is from mothercare.

I got one grobag in the sale in Mothercare and got another from Asda, which was reasonably priced! Have just bought the two for the time being! Figured the bedding will prob be washed quite regularly, well esp the sheet if bubbs is sick or anything xxx

Mamas and papas had some half price ones in their discontinued range. Worth checking the website. I've got two 1 tog which a friend gave me and two 2.5 tog for when it's colder. Not sure if I needed that many but I thought one on one in the wash. As for cot bedding I'm really not sure but as they are in a grow bag I would think once a week would be enough unless there's any accidents on them! X

Tescos do them too. We also got some from m and s, just gutted we can't use them till he's 10lb and he's just a little titch just now xx

I change the bottom sheet to Keira's carrycot every couple days as she manages to dribble on them and wash the blankets once a week x

All a massive help girls, thanks very much :) xx

As someone else said remmeber bub has to be a certain weight before she can go in a gro-bag / sleeping bag.

Also make sure you get a tog suitable for the weather.

You'll need two as you can use one and the other can be washed.

Eek I hadn't even thought about a spare!

John Lewis have a good selection..:)

I've bought grobag swaddle blankets for when little one is tiny, I found with my first I panicked about blankets going over his face, but also he would scratch his face if his arms weren't well tucked in and he constantly woke himself up, plus he was content being swaddled. I've got regular grobags for when he's the right size, all from amazon!! Xx

I love the idea of a gro bag, but when I had my daughter 12 years ago I was told by my midwife and health visitor that it was really importnant for babies to be able to kick their blankets off, as overheating was thought to play a big part in cot death.
As this was so long ago, and grobags seem really popular now, can anyone tell me if this advice has changed?
Like I said I'd love to use them, but I feel really uneasy about it due to this past advice. Thanks.

Overheating is thought to play a part in SIDS, but I've not seen ANY official advise against using sleeping bags, and I've done loads of research on it as DH lost a sister to SIDS. Things have possibly changed as in you now get sleeping bags of different togs - dunno if that was the same then.

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(

I have four, 2x1 tog and 2x1.8 tog. I plan on getting a couple of 2.5 tog for the winter. I got one of mine from an NCT nearly new sale. I change Evie's sheets every few days unless she's been sick on them, or had some other kind of mishap!

Tk macchu is good for gro bags if you're not too fussy on the design (which I'm not- there's only me and hubby that see him!!)

I wash his sheets once a week unless he's pled on them. To save washing more regularly I put a muslin cloth across the mattress under where his head is to catch any small bits of sick as much easier to chuck muslin in the wash

I used to do the muslin trick but they don't stretch across the cot. :(

I got one frpom mothercare which was pretty expensive I thought - was looking online yesterday for cheaper ones as I hadn't clocked that I needed two (lol) - found them cheap on the IKEA website of all places!!!!

Thanks. Thats what I thought. Puts my mind at ease a bit about using them. They look so cute and cosy in them.

Jayjay,

I actually got a gro bag recently off kiddicare which was so cute and great value compared to other online shops etc. I also noticed that jellyfingers (via emmas dairy) are doing a flash sale event, and they are selling lovely sleeping bags for £6!! xxx
