Green light to ttc with high THS level?

Hi,
I'm planning to get pregnant as soon as possible but my thyroid levels are once again off (I've been struggling with this issue for years now and the level was fine few months ago). My THS is 8,65 and as far as I know it's not recommended to ttc because there's an increased chance of miscarriage and risks in fetal development, especially brain. However, my doctor said it would be ok to start trying even now (while we still work on getting the levels down). Unfortunately I didn't ask right away why does she think it's ok. Has anyone had a similar situation? Of course I would like to start trying as soon as possible, but I would rather wait than put my baby at risk. My free T4 hormone level is ok, could that have anything to do with it (somehow ease the high ths)?

Hiya, I was told there is less chance of conceiving in the first place with a thyroid level that was outside the range. There is also a slightly higher early mc chance if you do conceive but it isn't massively higher.

More of a problem is high thyroid antibodies (which I have, with an otherwise normal thyroid level) but at the moment there isn't any treatment for this so you just have to accept the higher risk of mc and pre-term birth.

How long does it usually take for your thyroid level to get back in the normal range with treatment?

Hi, thanks for your reply. It took me a year to get normal levels the last time, that's why I'm quite anxious at the prospect of waiting for so long again.
