When I was a kid I had a rocking chair that was red, it had originally been my mum's and had been re painted, for my brother it was green and blue, you get the gist. Anyway I haven't seen this chair for years and assumed that when my great gran died it had gone with most of her furniture. I asked my mum about it a couple of weeks ago and her reply was oh it proberly got broken. Anyway my grandad turned up with it today, he's spent the last 8 months sanding it down and restoring it and has varnished it to match my living room furniture.

My mum knew and said she couldn't believe I'd asked about it after all these years.

Oh wow... that's beautiful! How sweet of your grandad! And how nice for him that you asked about it while he was doing it :D

Things like that always mean so much more - real history involved. I do love rocking chairs, love them!
It's gorgeous :D
