there are second hand form my friend she had a little girl last year..

there are really nice cloths and not cheap... from next and mother care... but my hubby does want are baby to wear hand me downs... which i can understand but we haven't got money to be dishing out and she won't wear them for long either

and there are lots of vest which she will need

the clothes are really really nice and her baby has only worn then once or not at all..

i don't n mind at all it's just him

i wish someone was kind enough to give me second hand clothes lol
but we did get a pram off my sisters friends mum, she hardly used it

best thing u can do is explain 2 your husband that they will b washed and they are almost brand new and u cant afford to spend loads of money on new clothes, plus ur baby will look better if they wear them than cheap new clothes :D

We've been given alot of clothes and other bits. I don't mind hand me down, obviously as long as they are not tatty or scruffy.

The way i see baby could need so many during one day if he is sicky or makes a mess so i'd rather have loads of clothes than have to do loads of washing as he has run out of clean clothes, lol!

I'd tell him if I were you that babies are in their clothes for 5 minutes then need a change again because they have dribbled on them, been sick on them, need a nappy change and the content has leeked down their leg, dropped dinner down themselves or what ever....they could be getting half a dozen outfit changes daily!! Plus they are from someone you know, they are nice, not scruffy or full of holes etc, good quality and will save you a fortune on new outfits that most people can't afford to keep buying. A packet of 3 vests will set you back around the £5 marker and they can't just wear a vest and a pack of 3 might not even see you through a morning. I'd just tell him she's wearing them if I were you, wash them, hang them up in her wardrobe and be done with it. Chances are in a few months time when she's wearing them he'll not remember that he didn't buy it anyway!

Just tell him that if he wants to pay for new clothes every few weeks when the baby outgrows the old ones then fair enough.

Nobodys gonna know that you didnt buy them new. I would mix them in with the new ones you've bought and I bet he wont even realise

nothing wrong with second hand when there from ppl u know. just tell him u bought them!

I've bought some second hand clothes off ebay and been given some aswell...Babies are expensive , the stuff i've bought looks brand new. just wash them and put them away, chances are he'll never know the difference. At the end of the day your baby will not care if they are new or not just if she is comfy.

Luckily for us Daniels baby brother is only 7 months old so we've got alot of stuff from his parents and we'll probably get alot of his clothes as he grows up cos our baby will only be a little bit younger.

Yes Id love to go out and buy every last pair of baby socks brand new but it would cost a fortune and babies grow so fast that you dont want to be wasting money like that.

I pass all my sons clothes to my sister, i wish there was someone to pass me baby clothes.

I've been car booting, Ebaying, charity shoping and sales shopping, not paid full price for anything i don't think. Baby items are just to expensive when you have limited money and other kids.

well thanks ladies for you in sight :D

last night my girl came round with 3 big massive bags fulls i'm telling you there piled right up to the top.

and i was going through them.. hubby came round and had a look thought and decided to use some of them :cheer: there are really nice clothes and we picked out the one that weren't so messy

we also decided not to use any of the vests of baby grows as there are a bit to personal.

and the rest on eBay :D :D
