Bought the pram today  Silver Cross 3D and it's lush :cheer:

BUT - although I'm not particularly supersitious, I still have a nagging feeling that I shouldn't have it in the house.

What will you all do? Keep it at home until the baby is born or store it elsewhere? I don't really want it out of the house because I want to play with it, but should I be better safe than sorry :? :?

Hmmm - decisions

Moomum to be honest I always believed in this, But you have to think im sure things have happened to people late on in pregnancy even though they might not have a buggy in the home. Also I was pregnant while i had a cot and buggy wtihin the home as i had a younger child too.

I bought this ones buggy at 4 weeks preg  I really couldnt resist the bargain i got. To me i feel it being in the home may be superstisious. But then again if i didnt buy it would it honest change the way my pregnancy will go??? I really dont think it will.

Once my buggy came i told myself to just put it away and leave it till next year but then i start to think its a lot of money to spend to not check everything is there and is in tip top condition, So i got it all out and put it together. But now it is all hidden away. I do still have 6 months to wait to use it though :(

Sorry to witter for ages, I just feel its up to you what to think as if something was to happen would it really be the buggies fault and think would this of happened had the buggy not been here. I believe it would happen buggy or not if it was sadly going to.

HTH i will now shut up :rotfl:

Isn't it funny how being pregnant brings out our superstitious side? My little boy (who's 10) recently commented that I keep saying, "touch wood" all the time these days and wondered why. I've noticed that he's right. All the tragedies we've been reading about on this forum haven't helped my peace of mind either :(

I was the same as you, moonmum - worried about keeping the pram in the house, but my brother gave me his old one (my nephew's) a couple of month's back, with the car seat and pushchair attachment, so I've had them ever since. I kept my first baby's pram in the house before I had him too (I had no choice, I was hundreds of miles from friends and family). I still had the pram when I gave birth to my next baby. Nothing bad happened those times, so I'm hoping for a happy outcome this time too (touch wood :D )

There's a lot of superstition surrounding babies - I think that's why we dress girls in pink and boys in blue: those colours were meant to protect the particular sex. Perhaps you could hang some lucky white heather to it or get one of those little angel pins to stick to the pram (some type of good luck charm to counteract any possible bad luck)? otherwise, you'll have to ask someone else if you can store it at theirs, or keep it in the garage, if you have one :D

Thanks girls - that was the answer I was really hoping for lol.

I was sort of dreading the "oh no! Don't under any circumstances bring it anywhere near the house!!!" type of answer.

Beth, you're right - I do need to open the box and check that everything is OK and working etc - it cost a lot of money after all and I doubt they'd accept a return 4 months down the line would they!

Wendy Wandy - nice idea about the charm or heather - I might do something like that once I've checked it all over and packed it back in the box.

Midna - get your arse in gear and go and buy something :rotfl:

Cheers flowers!

I've got mine upstairs (Silver Cross 3D too! In Pistachio) and baby not due till 24th Nov.

Well, it's out of the box, fully constructed and everything looks great :D I'm well pleased with it. Are you with yours? I think it's a lovely snuggy buggy for a winter baby!

Yep it's a nice sturdy pram - had it out a few times to show friends and relatives!!! Did you get the car seat too? We got it in Toys r us and got the accessory pack included.

Hear! Hear!

I had the same problem, but decided to keep it upsatairs.

I thought I was a bit too early in buying my travel system but it was too good a deal to miss and didn't want it to get spoiled, played with or even looked at in someone elses house. Daft I know. xxx

No didn't get the car seat as I already have one. What I like about it
is the "carrycot style" liner. Brilliant! Paid £219 in Mothercare - bargain I reckon!

Just keep it packed away. I am getting the same pram too. Mothercare do a good deal on it currently. Where did you get yours from?

I think we paid £289 in Toys R Us but got the £60 accessory pack with parasol, changing bag and cosy toes foot muff thingy included.

Mothercare - but be warned, the offer is closing soon and the price will be £300 including the bag/footmuff etc - no choice not to have it. Good luck !

I have the chance to buy a 2nd hand travel system from my friend complete with carry cot that doubles as a moses basket- has a stand.

I think I will see if she can keep it til I have had my 21w scan and then get it off her.

Sounds like a plan! Good that it has a carry cot/moses basket too :D
