What happens next?

Bit of history, since coming off the pill i have had very strange periods, bleeding every 2 weeks or for weeks non stop, having late periods (and false hope ) etc.

Went to the doctor today, she is doing basic bloods, but has also referred me to a specialist. She said further blood tests and an ultra sound to see if i am ovulating.

What else can i expect? My fiance is also going to get a sperm count done.

Any idea on waiting times for such things? Im guessing that varies from region to region .

I think for an ultrasound you'll be waiting around 3 months from referral until when your appointment is - that is what is was for me anyway.

They'll put a long stick up your vagina for your scan.

I don't know if your doctor will literally refer you now, or if she will wait until you have had all the basic bloodwork done with her and got the results.

We needed to have my bloods done, STI smears and two semen tests over the course of about 6 months before i went for my ultrasound but it does vary quite a lot.

My Doctor said she would send the letter off right away, because she does not expect my bloods to show anything, and the specialists will repeat them anyway.

Its good (and slightly daunting) to know what to expect.

There is nothing to be nervous about, except the results

The nurses and techs and consultants see exactly the same thing several times each day
