Had a very hectic day just attempting to do some shopping - my car is at the garage so I had to get the bus to town which takes 45mins even though town is only 8 miles away (I live in Cornwall and bus does the weirdest circuit!).

Got on the bus feeling a little green around the gills, at the next village a load of old biddies got on so the bus got really hot, stuffy and smelt of lavendar. I had to get off the bus 3 stops early because I thought I was either going to :puke: or faint.

Then the shops were really busy and after each one I had to sit on a bench and compose myself before attempting the next one. Ended up in Burger King at 11:30 eating a Chicken Royale and Chips (which did make me feel a lot better). Then had to finish my shopping and get the bus all the way back.

All I want to do is go to bed but instead its my OH's xmas do tonight (fancy dress!). We're staying in a hotel (because the original plan was to get drunk - obviously won't be happening now). We're taking our 3 massive, badly behaved dogs with us and the whole thing is just going to be a big old hassle. I'll be dressed as Sandy from Grease while eating an Xmas dinner that I'm not sure I can face.

His work mates are all really nice and we socialise with a few outside of work too so it's not as if I'll have a bad time, I just can't be bothered with it all. Plus only one person knows I'm pregnant (and thats cos she's 10wks preggers too) so we'll be sat in the corner with our orange juice while our other halves 'celebrate'.

Got to take the dogs out for their second walk in a minute to try and wear them out for tonight. No idea what they'll get up to in a hotel room on their own while we're partying (I will be taking my cleaning equipment just in case)!

just feel blahhhhh today!

Oh wow frog, where you too in Cornwall? We live in Redruth, used to live in Falmouth but my husband plays for Redruth Rugby club so its easy for us to commute to work etc...

Anyways, where is your work do tonight? I say go and if you feel tired go up to your room?

I don't suppose its at the Falmouth Beach?

Sam

I'm just round the corner from you - Porthtowan.
Do is at Watergate Bay Hotel - theme is THE MOVIES and for some reason we chose Sandy & Danny out of Grease and I look like a hooker in my costume!

HA HA Ha, I think me and my OH are doing that next weekend, for his rugby club xmas due thing.

They have to dress as any charactor that begins with the first letter of their name.

My OH's case its D

Can anyone think of a famous person or charactor beginning with D.

Its quite hard and will be difficuly getting a costume as he is over 6 foot and also over 18 stone in weight?

Dracula
Danny from Grease
Dudley (the monkey from Dudley checks in)
Darth Vader
....

Oh yes they sound like good ideas.

Thank you frog

RE dogs - I've got an 11yr old boxer, a 3 yr old boxer and a 5yr old staffie-x. Two are rescues and so far I haven't had much luck in trying to train them.

Update on the night out - dogs actually behaved quite well although one was sick during the night. I made it through the sit down meal without hurling (although there were a few dubious moments during the main course). I didn't drink a thing and no one noticed that I was on lemonade. I managed to have a dance and generally quite a good time. Starting feeling really tired from out 10:30 but managed to stay up until about 12:30 which is extremely late for me.
Stuffed my face at the buffet breakfast - complete fry up followed by a croissant with cheese. Was knackered all of the following day though and had a 2 hour afternoon nap!
