Going back to work............

I have given my boss 2 dates for me returning back to work after maternity leave.....the 1st been coming back to work once paid leave stopped the 2nd date been after the full 52 weeks. What happens if once my little girl is here and I decide I dont want to go back to work at all. Do I have to pay back my SMP? Just she mentioned that if I decide not to come back she thinks I would have to pay it back? Is this correct?

Also what happens if once I start my maternity leave I decide I want to leave all together starting that day.....what will I be entitiled to money wise?

Work is really getting me down atm and I really dont feel like coming back.

If you have enhanced maternity leave i.e. more than statutory then you will need to pay back that element of it if you decide not to go back.

If you are just on statutory then i would wait on making a decision about whether you are leaving or not until later on as you won't have to repay it anyway xx
