I really don't want to go back to work full time do I have to put it in writing to my employers asking if there is any chance I can go back Part time?

I'm going back to work mid September and I read something that said if you want to work parttime you do have to write to your emplyer, so I have written to my manager and copied it to HR. You have to ask for a meeting to discuss it with your manager and I think also sign a P form so that you have your hours of work confirmed in writing. I want to do 3 days a week.

Do you think your boss will agree no probs?

We were hoping that my hubby would be able to drop one day a week to help look after Emms but his boss said no in the end, but they do have to give you a good reason why they cant give you part-time hours/ flexible working.

I've gone back part time 3 days a week, but I have a very understanding and flexible employer! (police) that pride themselves on being family friendly.

I was told to give 28 days notice of "change of hours" and they then have 21 days to reply saying yes, or to raise concerns of "business reasons" why it's not practical for the company...

Something like that. x

I think my employers should be Ok with it I'm a Teaching Assistant and work for local council so i'm sure they will at least consider it.
Ideally i would like to do 2 and a half days.
I will write them a letter then I wasn't sure what the procedure was.

Thanks ladies
