Well, OH and I are really lucky and going to glastonbury this year 8) thing is, i wasn't planning on being 10-11 weeks pg!

Has anyone got experience of taking a "passenger" to music festivals? I'm not so worried about the crowds as I know everyone's really chilled and there's plenty of opportunity to get somewhere less busy to watch events - although it's a shame I don't have my bump as I expect that would get me some special treatment

But I know I'll need to sit down more, so thinking about getting one of those folding stool things and taking my picnic rug. Also, sorry this is not very delicate, but WEEING! which I am doing lots of! I am really not looking forward to having to hop up during the night, putting clothes on and hoiking myself over to the smelly portaloos. I'm considering getting those bags that you can wee in and it turns to gel, do you know what I mean? Has anyone had a go of those? I think they'd be useful for late night tent emergencies, although don't think OH will be too impressed! :rotfl:

And cycling there 10 miles from Castle Cary, erk! Will have to be a slow and majestic ride.

I hope lo appreciates all this for their first festival experience!

I'd check with your doctor/mw about the 10 mile bike ride hun. I used to cycle a lot with my aunt and I know she was advised not to continue cycling long distances (which 10 miles is) once she was booked in by mw. Do you usually do that distance on a regular basis? If you do a lot of exercise normally then it may still be ok.

Other than that - watch hygiene - esp animal faeces in the soil :puke: and watch any food eaten - overcook if necessary. Also remember you are a lot more susceptible to sunburn so you'll need to really protect your skin. (on the off chance that Glastonbury isn't a wash out) Make sure you have loads of water even if you need to pee every few minutes to avoid water infections and take antibacterial stuff for your hands that doesn't need water - lessens the chance of infections.

Hey, I'm going to Glastonbury too...... I'm so excited.

It sounds like you aren't a glastonbury virgin so at least you know what to expect..... I'm sure it'll be fine, although I admit the weeing in the night maybe a problem..... Mainly because i have to sych (sp?) myself up for it everytime, and try to go at infrequently as possible........ on the hygeine side, take lots of that alcohol hand gel, i find it a complete godsend!!! (although again I'm probably not telling you something you don't know)

Can't offer much help on the wee front, but I'd offer to share the burden if I could......

ohhh! me too, I wont be quite as pregant, 8-9 weeks

Im going to take some ginger tea along with me, and hopefully they will do some at the tiny tea tent aswell (for the nausea)

Oh, and i'll be using the she pees if they have them again this year, us girlies dont need to squat anymore if we dont want to!!!

Thanks for the advice guys!

Yeah, I am quite a cyclist... my top comfortable range is about 50-60 miles so 10 isn't a big deal. I might take a heart rate monitor and make sure I stay in a sensible range tho (and make sure OH is towing the equipment!)

But you're right - I think I'll do a few rides this week just to make sure my legs are going round! And the sun-block. I got burnt this weekend despite slapping on cream every 30 mins - will be loads careful from now on.

The she pees! - yeah, they're amazing! I was such a convert last time, huge step forward for women's rights I reckon!!

lots of antiseptic wipes I reckon, and i might have a shower for the first time in my festival-going career

Who are you looking forward to Marmite & tick-tock - I really recommend Martha Wainwright if you've not seen her before, she rocks! :cheer:

Are you staying there and camping? if so my top tip is too take a lylo!!
And watch the food too, cycling wont hurt will just keep you fit!
