So, DH has now said that he veto's Ada even thought he didn't mind it at first and I love it :(

I'm still going to push for it...

But at the minute I have a list of girls names I like which he is refusing to look over because he is awkward (took forever to get him to talk about names for our daughter, he just likes saying "no" to ones I pick)

So my list is:

Ada
Elsie
Molly
Arya
Ivy
Ruby
Eve
Freya
Ava
Emily
Isabelle
Willow
Amelie
Aeryn (AIR rinn)
Cora
Eilidh(AY Lee)

Middle name will be June hopefully after my Grandmother

Our daughters name is Lyla Marie so I would like the name to go with hers

Any other suggestions?

xx

I LOVE Elsie and ivy, they were both on my list if I was having a girl. They're unusual enough not to have another in the class but not too out there or weird. They're all pretty! I'd think carefully about names you have to pronounce to people, I have an unusual name and although people know how to say it when they read it, it's really annoying to spell it all the time! I imagine it'd be worse if people couldn't read, spell or say your name! Xx

Elsie is my first choice, but so far OH is demanding a traditional Kurdish name as her middle name, so now Elsie doesn't go with it. I'm still working on him though.

I think Ava June sounds nice though

xx

Emily gets my vote!! Woohoo!!

Emily June!!

Aww I can imagine how frustrating that is! They are both Irish names though (the ones with pronunciations) and we live in Ireland so should be good to go there :)

Ruby and Amelie are my particular favourites from that list! Although I prefer Amelia to Amelie. Aeryn is nice too!

I am loving Elara but husband is not so keen. We are both quite liking Lucia at the moment which is the only girl's name we have managed to agree on so far!

Aw well then they're both lovely in that case! It's so difficult isn't it? I'm 38+3 and still don't know what to call my baby! X

i think elsie, ada and ivy sound very old but maybe thats because ive worked with older people a lot and have met so many elsies. i hear the name and immagine them to be about 90 lol

i like emily. its such a pretty name. and justa girls name :) suits people of any age

I have so far chosen

Amberly Mai
Amber-leigh mai
Amarah mai

I have 3 daughters called Yasmin Leila, Ruby Alicia and a Scarlett Rose

Cant get my head round any other names yet but I changed my mind when I see my girls after the were born x

I realllllly want to have Ada June as our girls name. Would be Ada June McCabe and I think it sounds really lovely. Showed DH the list and he said it's the only semi decent one but he doesn't like it :wall: why is he so awkward! Was the same with our daughter Lyla and he didn't even like that at the start but I kept pushing it and got my way lol

Elsie -- maybe it was on my list too but in the end it sounded too much like Kelsie a horrid bully from my school so put me off, but that's my silly mind and a lovely name.

I like the most from your list these:

Arya
Ivy --- im liking more and more Ivy June the more I say it, I think its my favourite xx
Amelie
Aeryn (AIR rinn)
Cora

My Auntie who lost her battle with cancer two years ago was called June, she was an amazing lady and so kind its a fab name xx

Was watching Frozen last night and think I've stolen our name from there

Elsa June McCabe

DH said it was nice but he had been out for a drink so may change his mind today :p
What does everyone think?

My name is Eilidh, and I love how it's slightly unusual.. I'm from scotland but now live in wales so I rarely eat it pronounced as it should be unless I've met someone a few times.. I often get Hayley, eyelid, eye lid du huh (that's the most popular), and even Hilda and Elvis!

Ivy is a Name I'm hoping to use As a middle name if I have a girl as it's my late grans name..

Freya and ruby are also on my potentials list.

You have some good choices! Hope you can decide!!
