Think hubby and I over analyse names. Don't have a prob with boys names but for some reason girls are harder. There are lots of names i love for a baby/child but wouldn't like as a woman iyswim!

At the moment I am keen on Mia, not sure how popular it is now, I know it was very popular a few years ago. I like Ava but not sure if it sounds too posh lol. I also like Lily but may use that as a middle name as me and hubby are both L

My son is jack, does this sound ok with Mia? Also surname is Dawson BTW....any thoughts and other name suggestions welcome PLEASE, We are very stuck! Maybe this means its a boy as we have that in the bag :)

My friend has a boy called Jack and has just had a little girl they've called Molly. I love it. Think it goes really well with Jack x

My son is Jack and our daughter is Madeline. I love Mia too :)

This baby is a girl too, and I'm struggling getting my husband to agree on a name. Like you I want a suitable child's name, but also a strong name for an adult.

Naming is so hard! i like Mia though but M names are all the rage here (molly millie maya etc) i don't know why probably because they are nice! xx

My dog is called Mia :). I also know a little baby called Mia and think it's a strong adult name too! Also think it goes very well with Jack. I don't think Ava is posh, I instantly think it's beautiful and I know 2 little girls called Ava - neither are posh! I love Lily too, I have that on my middle name list.

My favourite girls names are Elara and Millie.

Love Mia x goes with jack

We're the same about girls names - so hard. We've finally (and permanently) landed on Eva - to be known as Evie - I've loved that name for years and have decided because we love the name we're over the fact that it's so popular now. And we love Eva as the option cos Evie is a very 'girly' name and she may prefer a grown up name later but we still love it. Our boy is jack too x

Yeah that's why I love it... it's very unique without being too weird or chavvy. It comes from greek mythology, she was a goddess who gave birth to a giant son haha, or it's also the name of one of Jupiter's moons. Unfortunately hubby isn't very keen, but if I find out I'm having a girl then I will certainly do my best to drum it into him haha.

Well my eldest is Alice and my second we went for an unusual one so we have baby Temperance Rose, we love it but you would never belive there was another in neo natal! But not heard of one since. x

Well turns out hubby doesn't like Mia...aaaaargh. Now back to Ava being only one we both like but I'm not 100% and nor is he. HELP!!!

Esme is so popular where I live but each county seems different although no Esmeraldas :S

I would just say sit tight a name may just come to you, I like

Anastasia
Matilda
but they may be a bit more out there xx

We have picked Mia. It's popular but not as popular as it used to be. I don't know another Mia to be honest. I love it!

Just read your OH doesn't like Mia. How about Maya! Ava is lovely. Also Eva. I'm into short names! I also liked Elena. Mia really is the best name though but I'm bias ;-)

Really? I'm on the west of scotland and don't know anybody at all called Esme. I rarely hear the name even being mentioned but I do think it will slowly creep up in popularity. My best friend loved it and wanted to call her little girl it but her partner didn't like it so she chose Heidi instead.

I live in Yorkshire and there are tonnes, like everywhere you turn someone is calling an Esme -- I think after twilight it really took off, there where two in the line at baby clinic out of the five babies. xx

I don't know any Esme's, I think it's beautiful though! I also like Matilda as Redbear suggested there are a few where I live but I don't think that matters if you love a name x
