Hi all,

I keep reading everyones posts and wondering about you all so I thought it would be nice to start a thread to find out a bit more about people seeing as we will be sharing the next 8 months or so together.

Just simple stuff like how old you are, are you married, is it your first, how long have you been trying, what do you do, that sort of thing

So here goes....

I'm 31, living with OH in Kent in a house we bought together in October. Not married but have been together 4 years today!

I work as an Environmental manager at a University and used to coach (and do) gymnastics on the side until my mc in May.

This will be my first and we have been actively trying since losing the first (unplanned one) in late May.

Can't wait to find out a bit more about you all

x

Hi Catty, Good Plan xx

My Name is Jo, I am 31 (32 on Sunday) I am married to Andy (since July2007) and have a son called Sam who will be 4 on Sept 19th.
I worked in Optics for 8 years but am now a full time mummy, but I do make reborn babies and sell them for a little extra pocket money.
I 1st started trying for a baby in 2002, (with my 1st husband) I fell pg Jan 2003 and MC almost immidiately, I left my husband and met Andy. We Started trying 2004 and finally had Sam 2006, when Sam was 2 I came off the pill but my periods were NUTS (I have PCOS) I had a 13 week period!!!
I went to see a specialist and had ovarian drilling done on July 30th 2009, on AUg 28th I got a BFP!!!!!!! Unfortunatley at 11 weeks I started bleeding and a scan showed baby died at 6 weeks, i was destroyed!
I have had a reallu shitty year since the mc and drank too much and smoked too much, BUT somehow I am pregnant again and over the moon but terrifeid too. OMG DONT I WAFFLE???? So sorry PMSL xxxx

Hi this is a fab idea Catty!

I'm Jodie and I'm 27. Jamie and I got married at the end of May this year and we decided to come off the pill and start ttc. He's a bit older (36) and we are very shocked (but also very pleased and excited) that we managed to get our BFP in only our second month!

I'm a barrister and I do criminal law so I prosecute and defend and mostly appear in the Crown Court, which yes means that I wear a silly wig!

Looking forward to reading about everyone else...

This is good to get to know what other people do, apart from worry and panic on here!

Im 27, my hubby is 30, and we have been married 4 and a half years. Live in Torquay in South Devon, which I love, being near the beach, and seeing the sea every day.

Im a police officer, and was on a public order team, dealing with all the drunkards, lol! Im now bored, behind a desk :-( My hubby works with disabled young adults, some of them quite severly disabled, so is used to dealing with all manner of bodily fluids!

Im a bit of an animal freak, and would love to have a house filled with animals - I want my own police dog, lol! At the mo, have a crazy basset hound, a parrot that never shuts up and shouts at the dog, and a cockatiel who just screeches all day! Like Misty, I love dogs with scrunched up faces - used to have a british bulldog, and she was the love of my life!!

Hi Guys
I'm 30 and live in Berks with my Hubby. Been married for almost five years. Have had a great time being married - we didn't live together before we got married so we've really made the most of the last five years :-)

We've only recently started talking about kids. We both knew we wanted them - just not exactly sure when! Decided to come off pill and try - ten weeks later here I am!

Very pleased and a little bit daunted. Can't believe that two weeks ago I would have been OK if it turned out we couldn't have had children and now I an panicking at every twinge! Amazing.

I work for a small local company and have a small share - helped set it up almost ten years ago. Not entirely sure how it's going to work with 'work' yet but I guess time will tell????

Really good to know a bit about you all. It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only panicker!!!

What a good idea! I'm 33 and live on the Isle of Wight with my 7 year old daughter and our 4 cats. My partner and I haven't been together long and live seperately which suits me at the moment, but we may think about more in the future. I work for HMPS ( i've written a bit more about that in the member's sanctuary) and i'm also almost at the end of a degree in psychology. I'll be taking a break from it now though while the baby's young.
My daughter was diagnosed with asperger's syndrome 2 years ago. She's so extremely intelligent and has an almost photographic memory, but has very poor social skills. Unfortunately her school are less than supportive and i'm considering a change in school for her in the future. It's a big decision though as she doesn't cope well with change. She's such a lovely, beautiful girl and every day i'm thankful for having such an amazing person in my life.
I don't have an awful lot of spare time but when I do I love being with friends, eating out (when sickness allows!!) and cross stitching. I'm currently planning a birth sampler for the baby, I can't wait to get started!

Hey,

My name is Helen (first time I've said that on here lol) I'm 28 - 29 in October. I work for a charity called shopmobility, only been there since May. I've been out as a lesbian for 10 years and I've been single for 2 and a half years. I've always wanted a baby, I became very, very broody at the beginning of this year. I ended up sleeping with a guy in July for the first time lol, thought I was pregnant then but turned out not to be. I then decided to find a sperm donor and after 5 donations in August I got my first BFP on the 3rd of Sep :) I had decided last week that if I wasn't pregnant this month (I didn't think I was) I was going to wait another year before trying again. And then I got my BFP lol. I am delighted, happy, excited, scared, petrified. And its not sunk in yet. But it feels real as in physically real. And its AMAZING!!!! Sorry I've waffled on now :)

My name is Sophie
I'm 19 but if baby is on date i will be 20+2 in april :P.
I work for a nursery in worthing west sussex and i love it, but i used to be a private live in nanny I've been with my OH for 1 year 4 months. Our little sticky wasnt panned and i was on the contracteptive injection (depo)

I moved out of home when i was 16 because i never really got on with my dad and have lived in house shares since, and met many now good friends.

this will be my first and both me and OH are very excited.
People always ask as if it was a mistake...and if we ment to get pregnant and we always say It was an accident....but never a mistake....I don't think i could see pregnancy as a mistake...

I thinkk thats everything.... :D

Hello to all,

I am 29 years old. I'm a lesbian and live with my civil partner in the South West. I am a social worker and have worked in children's services for 7 years.

My partner and I have been talking about children for a while and after tracking my cycles for a good few months, and looking for the perfect sperm donor, we took the plunge. I fell pregnant on the second cycle and we still can not believe it! Keeping everything crossed for the next 3 weeks until our 12 week scan.

Hiya, I'm Nancy. Am 39.. I think the oldest here which makes me feel a right old cow, although I certainly don't feel or act my age. It's my first pregnancy and I am a,ready milking it at home! Had BFP on 31st August and due on 5th May, same as Catty.
I have been with my OH a few years and we decided to start trying several months ago, then conceived on holiday. Trying not to get too excited as it's early days especially due to my age, but can't help it, we're well happy.
I am a high school teacher in manchester. Enjoy my job but would love to stay home now as I'm so knackered.

Very glad to have you all to chat to.
