Hi girls

Well, after the m/c I've decided to try to look after myself a bit and try to prepare my body for a successful pregnancy next time. So this is what I am doing:

No booze - normally I am a binge drinker like i'll have nothing for months and then go out on a all-nighter.

No smoking - I'm an on/off smoker but I have packed it in, relying on lozengers at the moment but feeling OK.

No caffeine - I love coffee, so I've switched to decaf plus I have a couple of cups of herbal tea. This has given me headaches the past 2 days :-(

Folic acid & Multi vits - taking these daily, plus quarter of an aspirin.

My BMI is in the healthy range anyway but I will be trying to eat healthier and when I feel up to it (motivation is hard) I will start swimming and running again.

What are you all doing to try to prepare yourselves?

Hi Hunny

Great thread :)
Ive started my running again, so im training/exercising atleast 4 times a week.
Tied into my running im drinking lots of water atleast 2L aday (which has made me have a huge increase in cm!)
Im taking pregnicare everyday.
Ive completely cut out caffine just before christmas, im drinking redbush tea.
I dont drink or smoke so no changes needed here x x

^^^ what's redbush tea? Does it help or is it a brand of herbal that you like?x

I like the idea of all the water too, I will add that to my list :yay:

Fab idea for a thread Princess!!

I'd lost 2.5 stone before Christmas so I need to carry on with that.........says she munching a small bag of Maltesers!!!

Taking Pregnacare tablets.

Decreasing tea to 3/4 cups a day.

Never smoked but do enjoy the odd glass of wine with a meal when hubby is home of an evening so will keep that in check.

Oddly since MMC I've developed a 'thing' about keeping my nails nice and sorting my rough skin out on my feet!! As i'm a very out doors type of person I don't normally have a 'beauty' routine but I have bought some pamper stuff................and I like it!!

Interesting side effect to the water M2A!!!!

I dont smoke or drink tea/coffee so cant change that.
Ive given up drinking... Im not a huge drinker anyway, normally a couple of glasses of wine on a fri/sat nite.
Im taking Pregnacare tablets and Im trying to exercise a bit more - difficult as I leave the house at 6.30am and dont get back til 8pm

My hubby is training for his first marathon which is in April... so his habits have gotten slightly better as well

hi princess, i'm with you. when i started ttc 9 months ago i cut out alcohol and last saturday drank for the first time in months. i'm also going to drink this weekend as af is due and i am going to reward myself if she arrives as i will be out for a friends birthday.

i changed from coffee to decaffe as well :) my next task is to shift some weight. i'm not lots over weight but more the 14 side of a 12-14.

the water is a must, im going to add that to my list too!

good luck hunny! xx

My o/h's habits aren't too bad, trains a lot in the gym (2-3 times PER DAY ) doesn't drink alcohol really, doesn't smoke. He always has a cup of tea in his hand tho. Can't get at him too much about it lol.

I'm taking tommy's folic acid multivits but I do have pregnacare left from when I was pregnant so I'll use them once tommy's have run out.

Sounds like I'm the naughty smoker/drinker out of us

Its just natural caffine free tea hunny, i think it tastes really nice x x

Sorry for all the questions  but can you get it at normal supermarket or is it a health food shop type thingy? xx

OH and i've just won some OPK's on ebay :yay: bargain!!

Hi Hun,

Well I'm eating healthy, lots of fruit juice and smoothies and fresh salad and veg.

I plan to get back in to the gym as I'm a fatty after my hols, couldn't be bothered this week with AF here though!

I don't drink in the week but if I go out I drink more than I should, not sure if thats worse than a glass at night but it's good to let your hair down sometimes I guess, all the stress of TTC and that lol!

I take Sanatogen Mother to be, and Omega 3, I'm gonna get vitamin B6 tomorrow too as that's meant to be good too.

That's it really, I was going to take Agnus Castus but as I'm gonna have Clomid I'm not going to bother.

Princess, why don't you ask for Clomid?

xx

I think that they want to leave me for a few months to try to ovulate without any meds. They said that the drilling will help for a while. However, he said if no luck then they will give me clomid. I am half tempted to just get it straight away, but maybe I should just give the bod a break for a while.

Yeah you are right Hun, I forgot you had the drilling too.

How are you feeling, are you testing for OV?

xx

I dont drink or smoke either, so one less thing to cut out.
I'm definitely doing the same as you girls by way of eating healthier, cutting out caffiene, taking vitamins etc.
I've been drinking lots of green tea recently and also take vitamin B6.
I dont normally work out, but have started to do 10 mins on my cross trainer everyday and will try to build up on that.
The main thing for me though is to not give it up when I fall pregnant, I definitely want to maintain this healthier approach

I have bought some ov tests today so I will start when they arrive. Goodness only knows what my cycle will be like after the m/c but only one way to find out :) xx

Yeah pink I am hoping to carry it forward tho I know I'll never be tee total

Hey all. I've also been doing alot of thinking about what I should do to help body when ttc.

I'm not big coffee/tea drinker but have invested in the decaff versions to replace what I do take. Already drink loads of water every day - the bottle is usually attached to me 24/7 lol

Not a big drinker. Have been with hubby for 5 1/2 years in total and in that time think he has seen me actually really drunk about 4 times lol Still will have occasional glass of wine but will def make sure don't binge.

Exercise hopefully won't be a problem now that I'm back to work as I teach spin and ladies circuits classes and on top of that have a Westie that demands "walkies" lol. Hopefully this routine will help get rid of the excess pounds put on over Christmas and the last few weeks sitting at home. Motivation, motivation, motivation :pray::pray:

I have bad lungs and am usually on antibiotics from October straight through to Easter to try to avoid chest infections. When I fell pregnant last time I was taking them but immediately stopped once I found out. I have decided not to go back on them and try to keep body as natural as possible. Am taking folic acid but that's all. Reading previous posts think I might need to invest in more vitamins - not sure what I should be taking though. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hubby has cut way way down on ciggies (1 or 2 a day at min) and hope that he keeps it that way or I'll just have a subtly start nagging him again :wall2:

Pregnacare is folic acid plus multi vitamins in one tablet, as are all the others too hun so I think it's just personal choice. I really need my motivation back to get off my butt and do some exercise!!

OH and i've just won some OPK's on ebay :yay: bargain!!

You can get them from a normal supermarket hunny, they are normally with the herbal teabags.

:yay: for winning the opks, are they internet cheapies or branded ones?

Ive just got a very +ive one on the cheapies after giving up on them last cycle, so they are not so bad after all :) x x

Thanks Princess.

I really had to work hard at getting back to exercising after MMC. The 1st Spinning class I went to I nearly didn't go in and was so close to just going back home. Glad I did go in even though my heart wasn't in it cos actually was good start to getting life back. Still not up to what I was doing prior to being pregnant but getting there :)
