Getting darker...?

Hey All,

Do these opk look like they're getting darker every day or is it my imagination? Is that how they work by darker each day or is it just waiting for the darkest line to appear?

Left one is the most recent with this morning's FMU x

This is taken off baby centre:

‘Instructions may vary slightly depending on which kit you use, but in general you should try to collect your wee between 10am and 8pm. The optimum time is supposed to fall between 2pm and 2.30pm.

Try to collect your wee at about the same time every day, though this is not absolutely necessary. Don’t test your wee as soon as you wake up, because you may miss the first day of your LH surge. Try to reduce the amount of liquids you drink for about four hours before you do the test. Too much liquid will dilute your wee, which could make it more difficult to detect the surge.

Read the results within 10 minutes. A positive result will not disappear, but some negative results may later display a faint second colour band. So throw the test card away once you’ve read the result.’


Hope this helps, I’ve never noticed mine get darker as I get closer to ovulation, they’re just 100% positive when I am, no mistaking it x

It’s difficult if like me you work all day and taking a test at work is not practical, I tend to stay of fluid towards the end of the day and test when I get home 6-7 luckily I was at home over the weekend when I got my positives and the evening one was the worst (took 3 in one day) ha

Yes, being a teacher I'm used to holding my wee in though Haha!
Just might be tricky to find time until after work. Hopefully it will fall during the holidays fx

Hi, I found that if a test was almost positive at 2pm and I wanted to pin point ov’ing then I would test again later on, say at 6pm and it might have then been a positive - obviously it only can suggest you will ov between 12-36 hours. I found when I tested I could see a gradual change in the test and if the line is as dark or darker then the control line then it is a positive, everything else is negative. Good luck for this month x

Thanks for your reply. I have tested twice a day and now there is NO line. What is going on? Can it go from a faint line to none at All? Will I not ovulate this month? Just want my cycle to go back to normal.

What CD are you? The pics you posted are negative so don’t worry if there is now no line as it just means it’s still negative. When you tested later had you drunk lots of fluids?
Just a saw your signature, sorry for your loss- is this the first cycle post CP? It may your hormones are still getting back to normal x

Thankyou. So I have been counting the first day I bled as CD1 at the moment until I have AF. That would make this CD18 of we counted it that way. Just wanted to see if I would O at all this month as some people have said they caught straight away after a loss. I had problems prior to CP which meant having a biopsy and colposcopy but I was finally having regular cycles. Just a shame that's messed again.
