Hi all, well just wanted to get all my worrying out of my head and into the open and am looking for some advice i suppose...

Over the past week or so i have in the back of my mind been noticing some symptoms which are now worrying me...I am still soooooooooooo tired and it is getting worse not better, and i am constantly thirsty like havent had a drink for days thirsty...i drink pints and pints and pints and it doesnt quench my thirst...

When i was in the last 2 months of my last PG i had to do a glucose tolerance test at the hospital and i was border line but they left it untreated and all was fine, i am now really really scared that at this early stage i am going to be diagnosed with Gestational Diab's!!!

Does anyone have or have had it, and can give me some advice?? I have booked a midwife appt for tom eve and am going to take sample in to get it checked but am sooooo scared.

Thanks for your time in reading this, tigger xx

aww sorry hun, i really dont have a clue about that, now im sure there is someone on the forum who has it, think she might be in tri 3!!!

at least ur seeing MW 2nite who should be able to tell you, good luck with that chick

lets us know how u get on

I understand your concern  I'm booked for a glucose tolerance test on the 19th of Dec as doc has been finding glucose in my urine but apparently not in my blood. So I have to do it to be on the safe side.
I don't really feel thirsty all of the time but I do have a sweet tooth and in the fist tri, I was eating huge amounts of food including chocolate, pasta and cake. I'm assuming that that's why I was getting v.thrush from time to time although tests for glucose in my blood have come out normal.... So now I just have to wait and see .....

Wish you loads of luck please try not to worry although I know it's easier said than done xxx

Thankyou all, i went to see midwife yesterday and she checked my wee and all was normal so she wasnt worried, she will keep checking it though to make sure it stays ok... i am sooo relieved she was really nice (i havent met her before as she was off when had my booking in appt). She checked blood pressure which was ok and then I HEARD MY BABYS HEART BEAT FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!!! i was so happy it was worth the stress and worry of the past few days, baby is now alot higher so she found it really easily :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Aida when have you got to do the Glucose tolerence test? Let me know how you get on please as is scarry i know!!

Take care all and thanks again  xx

Hi tigger first of all thanks for the update I'm so so pleased that all went well for you

I'll be going to hospital on the 19th of this month, thanks for asking. What worries me most is that I won't be able to have breakfast as it's something I've grown to depend upon since becoming pregnant I'm not coping very well with hunger pangs

But as you said, once you hear the baby's heartbeat and get told that everything is ok, you forget everything so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm so pleased that your midwife has reassured you that you and your baby are fine

hi aida, yes midwife was great...i was very happy!
The Glucose tollerence test isnt the most fun thing to do (i had it with my 1st), and i do think it is very cruel to make a pg woman starve all morning then take her blood but it is worth it to give you a diffinitive answer.

Good luck hun and let me know how you get on, and thanks again for your help

tigger  xx

Thanks a lot for your concern hun I appreciate xxx    I will definately keep you informed.

Hope all goes ok Tigger and that GD stays away for you! You've done all the right things, im pleased all is clear at the moment
