Gel nails?

Can we have gel nails on while late in pregnancy/in labour? Ive read people saying no in case you need a csection(which i may as baby is wrong position)? Is this correct?

My hospital also advises against it as they like to monitor oxygen levels through your nails or something like that.

Yeah I'm avoiding nail polish as well as if you need a c-section they need to monitor circulation through your nail beds. I've seen people on OBEM with lovely nails but i'll probably just leave it until afterwards in case I end up in surgery!

I had gel nails on my toes in my last pregnancy and bare finger nails and had a section. Nothing was ever mentioned about my toes. Doing the same this time as well. X

I remember someone said last time they had gel nails, ended up needing a c-sec, and had the monitor thingy clamped on their toe instead.

Best bet would be to ask your mw if you're that worried xx

Had gels on both hands n toe nails n nothing was ever said. Maybe just ask your mw.

I didn't think anything of it until i did a quick google, hmm i wont have my toes done so guess could use that. Will speak to mw next week and see what she says?!
