I use a laxative called Lactulose. Laxatives that are not digestible are safe. Osmotic laxatives suck water from you colon and mix it with your waste to create an easier to pass stool. Not all osmotic laxatives are safe though as some of them are digestible, and this is not good for your baby. Lactuose, however is osmotic and not digestible and is therefore very safe. My doctor and pharmacist have both given me the go ahead to use it.
-plenty of fruit and veg
-plenty of water
-massage your tummy and back, especially your left side as your bowels naturally lie to the left
-go for a walk
-fybogel
-lactulose
-prunes / prune juice
-OJ
-Plenty of fibre
This caught my eye - try dried apricots. A few after every meal - chew them really well. Also avoid cold water and try to drink luke warm water. I have no experience of pregnancy but have taken lactulose, fybogel, senna and more due to health issues. Apricots better than everything else.
