So me and my boyfriend and our little boy finally have found a house to rent!!! It's furnished which is fantastic but in 1 of the bedrooms which will be my little boys there is a desk and a single bed which obviously he won't need! Has anyone had experience with a rented property that was furnished? Will the landlord just take the furniture out of that room no problem?! I mentioned it to the estate agent showing me round and she said she doesn't see why not bit I haven't actually met the landlord yet xxxx

Hi Hun I've had this, just contacted landlord and asked him to remove it as i won't need it, just make sure its not on the inventory either

That's not a bad idea cosmic girl I'll ask :) and sorry to sound thick kayelle but what's the inventory?? Haha x

I agree, speak to the landlord he should
Be able just to move it.

In a rented property, especially furnished, there will be a list of everything in the house, wether its a bed, cupboard or curtains. The landlord will note next to it what condition everything is in, any marks or scratches whatever and you go around and check then you both sign. So basically if you move out and something on the list is broken or missing he might not give deposit back x

Ahhhh I see! Do u live in a furnished house?? I'm going to mention it to the estate agent when we pick up the keys. Hopefully they won't mind. Is ur landlord moving stuff for u?xx

My previous flat was , had a bed and sofa. There was a table that took up too much room so asked them to take it and they did move it :-)
I'm in unfurnished now. I would Defo make it clear with the agent before you move anything in so that when you do inventory its right :-)

I have this problem atm. The 2nd room aka walk in storeroom has landlords built in cupboards etc which he refuses to remove which reduces this place to a 1 bed :(

It sucks but hopefully your landlord will be more accomadating.

Phsyco I hope he is only charging you for a one bed then! Cheeky get

Before we rented our house it was a show house, so fully furnished - we were offered all of the things but only kept the beds (as ours was falling apart) and the dining room table. He just moved the rest of the stuff out.

I think if you speak to them they should move it or the loft x

Im a letting agent and we tend to ask the landlords to remove items which arent needed, ask them to do this before you collect the keys and ask for them to put it in writing if they agree, ask them to email you as this still counts as having it in writing. The inventory is very important to you for getting the deposit back, ensure they have removed the item from the house and the inventory before you collect the keys and sign anything. Good luck x
