any moms ever had a normal (say 35 wk = 35cms) bump and had a bigger than avg baby?

what do you classify as a big baby?

I measured right every single time and Kai was 9lbs 2oz's. But I was told he would be around 8lbs, that is something you should never trust.

my friend had a tiny tiny bumb she just looked chubby, she had a groth scan and they said it was a big baby. very confusing seems she was sent for one thinking the baby was to small
at 40weeks she gave birth and had a 9lb 6oz baby
the baby can be laying deep in your back etc.

I measured normal all the way through with Aimee and she was 8lb 11oz. I know thats not massive but she was bigger than normal.

My midwife has told me that fundal measurements were something that Doctors have asked for and most midwives only do it as an extra. MW aparently prefer to go off landmarks on the baby ie) where are the shoulders in relation to the bum!!! This is how my midwife came to the conclusion that I was having a big baby despite my growth chart following a normal curve.......

i was bigger and smaller with my first three and they were 7 and half, 9 and 7 pounds.
I measured big all the time with my 4th and she was 10 pounds :D

I always measured spot on or 1-2 weeks over up until late then i measured no where near it was way high...they dont seem very accurate

I measured normal with Kaiden and he was 8lb 11oz if he was born on his due date he would have been 9.5oz. a few of my mates were told their baby was gonna be big and theirs were 5lb13 and 5 lb11 XkelX

For weeks they told me Thea would be a big baby placing her around 9 to 9.5lbs. She was born at 40wks +4 and was 7lbs 7oz.

Melanie - Thank you for that! I have some hope now!!! :D

yes lyndsey but i think pat goes off actually feeling the baby, she never said anything about my baby being big with measurements until after she felt around , she felt around for a few seconds and said ''JULIE GET THIS GIRL A GROWTH SCAN''! lol

i really wouldnt panic if the bubba is big nathan was and he came out all right and theres plenty of women that have delivered 10-11 pounders no problem as for them having a shoulder dystocia that can happen to a 6 ft women having a 5 pound baby and if anyone(ie consultants) starts scaring you with awful big baby complications please please have a good read yourself. even if they told me my future bab was going to be 12 pounds id still have a go at a natural delivery
