Full bladder or not?

Hope everyone is well! I've got my nuchal scan tomorrow, do I need a full bladder for it?

GL with your scan tomorrow. I don't know about the bladder for the nuchal scan. I had to have a full bladder for an early scan I had. However just got my 12 week/nuchal scan date through today and it mentions nothing about it at all.

Yeah same!! I tried calling and no answer, I think I'll go without and take a bottle of water, it doesnt take much to fill my bladder these days!

I was told to have a full bladder with mine so I just bought a bottle of water and drank that while I was waiting

I didn't need a full bladder for my 12 week one where they checked nuchal. Maybe best to go with one anyway, you can always empty it if need be

The letter for my nuchal/dating scan does say that you need a full bladder and that you should drink 1 pint of liquid 1 hour before the scan.

Cheers ladies, think maybe I will go with a full one just in case! It's about a30 minute train ride away, it's going to be one uncomfortable journey, but hopefully worth it in the end!

Go with as full a bladder as possible Apparently you have more chance of getting a clearer picture, although thats not always the case x My LO was wriggling about too much to get a good view of the nuchal fold, so i went and emptied mine, and it was a clearer pic with the full bladder xx
