Friend on the verge on bankruptcy (sp)

Just had an email from a good friend who i don't speak to very often but he helped me sort my 'head' out when i was having boyfriend troubles and was a shoulder to cry on and sound off.
Well i sent him a mail saying Hi you alive!! and got this response

Alive and drowning under divorce, debt and stuff.

Had to close freshacre – in order to try and get some sort of divorce settlement – but may still be forced to go bankrupt because of it all!!

Will still be trying to kik ass tho!

ah thats so sad. the world is so crazy when a guy can end up bunkrupt or at least almost so, just to sort a divorce settlement. how can a court order someone to bunkrupt themselves? sorry it just makes me mad, men can really get a s**t deal when it comes to this stuff sometimes.

good for you trying to help though. you're a good friend and i'm sure he is grateful for that.
