I hope that all of you would be able to help me with something please!

I am very interested in starting my own business in making "Freshly Frozen Homemade Baby Foods". This is something I do myself and find it very simple and nutritional but I am lucky to be at home and I thought this would be great for moms who don't have time, but who share the same importance of freshly homemade foods for their bubs.

It will be available in the frozen food section. It will be in the form of frozen cubed foods, bagged and boxed and made from fresh products without any preservatives, additives and colourants. There would be 3 individual flavours per box for your own mix and match - all foods being complimentary of one another. From freezer to baby within 3 minutes.

Does this concept appeal to you - would you buy?
Any info, advice or critisism will be very much appreciated. No offence taken at any enclosed opinion/s! :D

Many thanks
Emilia xx

i quite like cooking but am not very good, i don't want zoé to prefer someone elses 'haute cuisine' lol

seriously i think it's a great idea! go for it!!! what with women working sooner after the birth and all it could work really well

Personally I would definately buy as an alternative to jars :)

yep, I would buy. I like to make my own when I can but its not always practical for me especially when I was working.
Go for it, im very impressed.

I love the idea. In the UK there is a food called babylicious which is along the same lines. It is frozen food, all natural ingrediaents and is fab. So easy (I use when me and OH are eating something Seren can't) and she loves it. Got her the fruity lamb casserole, mild chicken curry, lancashire hotpot and chicken and tomato risotto). From what you have said there doesn't seem to be great convenience foods in South Africa so I think it would definately take off.

Your message really helped.

Go for it, I love using them and from what I have heard you make scrummy food, just make sure you get them so I can order some too :D

i put no for the face reason that how many do cubes do you have to use of them before you have got enough to fill your little one up???

i get froze food for brayds already buit if it had ur name on it id deffo get it

Hi Vicky... that's a good question.

At the moment - the way I prepare the food for Oscar, I use 1 cube of fruit with his breakfast cereal, 3 cubes for his lunch and dinner. However, it varies as Oscar also eats freshly cooked foods from the meals we're having. It is an alternative to jarred foods, which a lot of people are sceptical of - just tapping into a niche market here in SA.

Hope that helps!

Great idea Emilia, I would buy :D

How long would the shelf life be? If it were all fresh with nothing added it would only be about 3 months in the freezer wouldn't it??

Def would buy as long as not too expensive. We have a place in our town that do it but its £5 for 3 little pots - which i think is bit pricey

oh didnt know they did baby stuff. thanks!
