Hi, I I have a fridge freezer and looking to start freezing some breast milk for when I'm bridesmaid at a wedding next month and Caleb isn't invited.

Am confused by the online advice-I thought it would be okay for 6 months but now I've see some websites say 2 weeks?! If anyone knows which is right/if it's something else I'd really appreciate it! X

I read a month (I think a month is standard for most things. They say 'freeze on date of purchase and use within a month')

I threw away the leaflet HV gave me but I think but that's where I read a month.

It's 6 months Hun if you put it straight in the freezer after expressing but less if it's been left at room temperature or been in fridge x

It is 'up to' six months though and will depend on your freezer. We stored some in the early weeks but it had gone off when we defrosted it 6 months later.

As long as its a proper freezer (not a little ice compartment thats inside the fridge) then its 6 months. Even then theres generally a bit of room to play with not like when kept in the fridge

I've been told 6 months too. It's less in a freezer compartment in a fridge. I was also advised not to keep it in the top 'fast freeze' part of the freezer.

Thanks ladies, we have a proper freeze rather than just a nice compartment...only want to freeze a batch for the end of May so was just checking the 2 weeks wasn't right as I'd be wasting my time...and my milk!! x
